Just rebuilt my RS4's (B5) 6 speed tranny. All gears engage well...except that whenever i try to simulate to put it on reverse...it DOES NOT engage! It goes into position but the gears seem to engage when i manually apply pressure to the shaft (the tranny is NOT mounted yet to the car).
Does anyone have ideas on what I might have left out? My tranny is an FDP code 6-speed manual tranny.

You probably have the shift lever that engages the reverse gear on incorrectly BTDT many times. You can also try to engage reverse while turning the input shaft, if that doesn't work then you have to take it apart again.
