    Audi Care Package question

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Ok So I knew/know nothing about this Audi Care package. All I knew when I bought my A4 last week was that it still had 9 months of factory warranty on it. Gave me a warm fuzzy at least. Seems with a bit of reading I must have this ACP on my 05.5 as well? (I haven't seen documentation in my manuals on it yet)
I understand this covers oil changes, and I should probably look into it, to see when I should get it done next. (My Audi came off a VW lot, so I don't know if they serviced it properly or not.)

One odd thing is bothering me...
I called the dealer with the VIN, and he tells me "Yup, its had its 45K mile service about 4 months ago......" Eh? The car has 35K on it right now....
Not sure this a a question as much as looking for comments or similar experiences. Why would Audi even agree to a 45k service at 35K? I have no stamps in the manuals showing any service at all.. Possible BS?

    Comments and opinions welcome...

    Thanks
    Vince

    Re: Audi Care Package question

Chances are they did the 45 at the time interval, not mileage. As far as I know the Audi Care Package that came with 05.5 only goes up to the 45k service so you're out of luck there.

You can purchase an extended care package. I was quoted about $800 for it when I bought mine. I didn't think it would be worth it as it didn't cover enough services.

Whoa, oil changes are included with the warranty? I just got a 06 b7 a4 QMwith 21k on Monday from a used car dealer(not Audi dealer). What all does the Audi Care Package cover?

call your local audi dealer, let them know what you have, they'll ask for your VIN, and you'll most likely get the 45k service for free...possibly the 35k as well.

    Re: Audi Care Package question

What it might mean, is that whoever had it before you did the services early. I just bought my car and while I was waiting for it a guy with an A6 with 16K miles on it was getting is 25K service....how, he did his 5k service at 5k, his 15k service at 10k and now his 25k service at 16k....the dealership won't care when you do it, but the ACP will only pay for it up to the 45k.

I got the ACP on the 07 I just bought with 15k, but I'm planning on only doing the oil changes at the 10k mile intervals - it also covers the transmission filter/fluid change at 35k, for anyone who has it.

    Re: Audi Care Package question

So, showing that I haven't done a lot of owners manual reading yet, what is the Audi recommended oil change interval for this car?

I will most likely look into extended warranties before the A4 falls off factory. Too much of this car rides at the edge of my budget. The joys of being a damn good mechanic myself will let me let me get by when I need to (which helped convince me into buying the car), but parts prices on the A4 could devastate my summer vacation fund with a singe mechanical catastrophe. (Don't think my 12 year old son would appreciate that, as we are rafting the Grand Canyons this coming summer.)
I have time to think about the extended (mainly by learning from this board, and my experience over the next 6 months...)

CV Joints covered under ACP I assume? My fronts are feeling a tad jerky at full wheel lock....

Yeah, if anything goes then they are hard to replace, meaning expensive. You should be fine though, my bros B6 has 50k and hes running strong after two years with it.

Audi Care only covers maintenance, not mechanical wear. This might even be covered under the original warranty if any.

Because Audi Care starts after the first FREE 5K service from Audi and it runs along with the warranty period of 4YR/50K, except ACP stops at 45K, it sucks I know because I have it and my car is currently clocked at 6.5K (yes, that's 6,500 miles folks) and it is a 2008 model. My next scheduled maintenance is around July-August of this year (for the 15K interval) and God knows how many miles on my odometer then; maybe around 9-10K? I do it because I don't want to lose out on it, I wish they'd count the mileage instead of the clock.

    Re: Audi Care Package question

2005/6 Audi A4's have the scheduled services covered by Audi for the length of the original factory warranty period, i.e. 4 years or 50k miles whichever occurs first. They stopped offering this beginning in 2007 and offered the discounted ACP as an option. Currently it's ~$650 which is still < what you would pay for these services out of pocket. The so-called BMW "free maintenance" covers 3 services to Audi's 5 in the same timeframe.

    Re: Audi Care Package question

2007/2008 Audi Care Package applies for 5 years from in-service date. For a low annual mileage car, 1st service is at 12 months ( equiv 5000 mi), 2nd @ 24 months (equiv 15,000 mi), 3rd @ 36 months (equiv 25,000 miles), 4th at 48 months (equiv 35,000 miles), 5th at 60 months (equiv 45,000 miles).

You still get all the services completed in the 5 year window .

    Re: Audi Care Package question

My car is due for the 45K tune does anyone know what is involved? Mine is free due to the coverage but I was told this is normally $600 service, so I would assume they are doing more then an oil change?
