    Stainless keeps the lines from deforming or it does nothing.

    They make a huge difference in feel or they just look cool or they are a waste of money.

    I went through the same agony and ended up with a lot of conflicting posts. However I found this wiki interesting.

    Stainless steel brake lines are a quick and easy way to provide improved pedal feel. By moving to a stainless steel line you remove the flex most rubber lines experience under moderate to heavy braking.

    Pedal travel will be unchanged, but the pedal feel will become firmer throughout the range of travel.

    We've moved to providing improved lines and pads in our Touring Edition Signature Series models. These 2 items produce the cheapest means by which to improve your brake performance and pedal feel.
