Is it possible to bolt up a 1.8 CVT to a 3.0? I found a 1.8 and I can't find a used 3.0 anywhere? I bought the car for 18k six monthes ago and without transmission they will only give me 4k on a trade. Looking for any solutions... Thanks.

i dont believe 3.0s ever came in a CVT version, so it would be a tough swap.

^ They did, but I'm not sure how easy of a swap that would be.

    Re: 1.8 to 3.0 CVT

Any ideas on where to get it rebuilt? I live in Huntsville, AL. And every shop I have been to say they will not touch a CVT and that they don't know any place except the dealer that will. Even the dealer here does not know how to rebuild it. Their only recommendation, replace it for $6500 not including labor. Help??

Dealers all over Florida rebuild CVT's with there eyes closed. Thats all they see down there. FWD garbage CVT's. Maybe you can contact a dealer and ship it to them. Probably needs new clutches and trans module. Typical cvt rebuild

    Re: 1.8 to 3.0 CVT

Thanks for trying to help guys. I will call down to FL and check some dealerships. Also does any one know how I would know the transmission code for my CVT, other than asking the service shop at the dealership? There seems to be two different codes for the 3.0 cvt's. Thanks.
