    A4 Cabrio Battery Replacement

    Hello all!

Ok, so here is the situation that I come to you Audi guys with for some guidance. My girlfriend calls me today to tell me that she thinks the battery in her A4 Cabrio died and from the sound of things, that's what I think it is too. I will be heading downtown to her place tonight to charge/replace the battery and was curious what type of tools I will need to have handy to get this done. I have seen some pictures of the engine bays in this car and the battery looks quite hidden? Seems you need to remove the rain guard at the fire wall to access the battery? Is this accurate?

Her car is parked on the street so while I know if I had more time, light, etc that I would be able to figure it out on my own, I will not have all that at my disposal and would like to be as efficient as possible with this process.

Can anyone tell me the specific tools, socket sizes, etc that I will need to do this? My plan is just to get in there, pull the battery out and stick it on a trickle charger over night. If it holds a charge, great. If not, we will go buy a new one in the morning and I will put it in.

    Thanks in advance, fellas.

yeah the rain guard needs to be removed but you don't need any tools to remove it. it just pulls right out. and as for the socket sizes, why wouldn't you just bring a bunch of different sockets

    Re: A4 Cabrio Battery Replacement

Thanks, guys. I got there last night and I was able to jump it with my jumper box to get her in the garage under her building. It is tucked pretty tightly in there under that rain guard but I now see it should be a simple job. We are going to pick up a new battery this afternoon and put it in.

    Thanks again!
