weird humming sound

after i turned my car off today i heard a weird humming sound that sounded like a fan was still goin. i had the key out of the ignition and i could still hear the sound. its coming from the side the turbo is on and it keeps coming on every few minutes. has anyone had a this happen?

just to add, it still hasnt stopped. its been humming for about 30 seconds to 1 minute and stopping for two or three minutes for the past hour.

you have a second fan on the right side it ia electric and is for when the car is running too hot or when the ac is on... check to see if it is the noise maker... then go from there....

well i had it looked at and it was a fan needed for emmisions or something. the guy said i didnt need it so he just disconnected it.

you probably needed it. if it was for emissions then its probably the secondary air injection pump. not vital but helps
