    Brakes shakes during snow...

    it snow today, here in NYC. I was driving at my normal speed because the Quad is just that good. the ground is slippery. when i try to hit the brakes like normal, it shakes,, like the tires are slippering. Is this normal?? don't ABS stop that shake??.. anyone know what i'm talking about??

    i have to slowly tap the brake...

    Don't pump the brake, that's what ABS is for, it's suppose to vibrate like that.

    First time I ever had the ABS intervene I thought the same thing - why the heck are my brakes shaking so hard.
    It's normal ABS behavior. It's pushing your foot back to prevent locking.

    Thanks guys.. i think i didn't make my thread clear... it's the brake paddels that was shaking.. i guess that's normal.. one of the guys told me that's when the ABS kids in.. and i should either remain the same pressure on the brakes or hit it a bit harder...

    It's not pushing your foot back, it's actually pulsating the brakes hundreds of times per second, but you were close lol

    Yes. you are right - it's just felt like pushing back in my old Altima.
    It only made me push harder on the brakes.

    The only rule to ABS is that it is either engaged or not. Unless you severely decrease brake pressure it will remain engaged.
