    Flashing E-brake light!!!

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Well my e-brake light started flashing yesterday and I searched on here and it seems like it must be my brake fluid. I was just curious if I could just top it off and what kind do I need to get? I have no Audi/Vw dealer near me either. Is there anything I can get like at Advance auto parts or Auto zone?.....................Thanks guys

See what the owners manual says. Otherwise try to find Motul fluid

mine just did the same thing...COuld this be brake pads? Or will brake pads give a warning on the center counsel instead of E-brake light and a "beep". Thoughts welcome...

    Re: Flashing E-brake light!!!

alright here's the thing it flashes because of 2 reasons... well actually 3
    1. you forgot to take the car off handbrake :)
    2. the breaking fluid is low and you need to tip it off
    3. your rear pads are low (fronts have sensors)

now bad thing about 2 is that if the cause is your rear pads you can disable the warning light by topping off the brake fluid, but in the same time if in fact your rear pads are low they will start grinding metal/metal

    Re: Flashing E-brake light!!!

well, i just replaced my rears with brand new pads, and my light is still on. i'm gonna grab some fluid and pop it in and see if it helps.

for the fronts, if they're worn does it show in the DIS or does the brake light flash?
