Audi couldn't save these kids...and wtf is with the law???

4 youths left a private golf club, drunk, in their Audi this summer. The car accident that followed has led to lots of charges being laid against the entire board of directors of the corporation that owns the private club. It owns about 40 golf courses (very similar to Clubcorp)

Incredible...you're on the board of a publicly traded company, and find out 5 months later that you are now charged in connection with the accident! The worst part? 2 of the directors charged ALREADY QUIT the corporation 6 months before the incident.

Because it is never the fault of the idiot that did not know when to stop drinking and then got behind the wheel.

I can hear the conversation, "my daddy makes millions and I'll make sure you lose your job if you do not keep 'em coming."

how about the directors of the corporation being charged...that's a bit strong.

especially the two who had already left the firm back in 2007

I definitely could see where the charges are coming from. It is ridiculously easy to sit down and get wasted at country clubs. They don't card and are very lenient with the flow of alcohol. Major wake up call for those of us who do this though. It is too easy to go spend a day getting wasted and golfing and then drive home.

So you are saying that you have no respect for drinking and driving law?
Every driver should know when to call a cab, i know some people drive drunk, and even if you can drive drunk and not pushing it or racing like an idiot still you can't blame the bar, sounds like rich parents need to find somebody to blame for.

the worst part is that this club is in Muskoka, a summer vacation spot here 2 hours north of Toronto. Big hot spot for the wealthiest Canadians, not to mention international travellers including a good chunk of hollywood.

It's only 'active' during the summer, so you get lots of seasonal workers...university students and local kids. Sounds like at least 2 of them are fukt...they're on the list of those charged, along with the restaurant manager and 13 directors of the corporation.

The momos were of legal age. 18 or 19 depending on the proidence. These momos knew full well what they were doing. It's not the club houses job to breathalyze em. YOu ever go to a baseball game where they say no more then 2 beers per custome, per inning. And they send their friends 2 get em more. Come on. Thank god they killed themselves. The passengers are just as wrong as the driver for not only getting in the car, but doing nothing to stop him.

do you mean province? Ontario's legal drinking age is 19

anyway, you're kind of advocating death penalty for bad judgment by these kids...a bit harsh.

Sorry I forgot the abuses of the law system...

I respect the law on drinking and driving law but when its overreaching to the point where the lawyers can sue the people that delivered the alcohol (Case in PA that we had in law) that is when I lose respect.

They were all of legal age and not kids. 50 years ago you killed yourself or got messed up and learned. Now your life is just a big cash payout and no is responsible for their own demise. A person commits suicide, sue the gun producer. A person breaks into a house and is mauled by a dog, sue the owner. I'm glad these ADULTS died and no one else. DWI is not fun and games.
