help me decide

i need help picking out these two b5's.

this one i checked out and its really clean but the guy doesnt want to budge on the price and i do not know what mechanicaly wrong with it. i took it for a test drive and it doesnt seem like there is anything wrong with it. i offered him 4500 but he said hell call me back. it has one accident but no stuctual damage.

this guys car is really clean. no accidents. lower miles. i told him that im looking at paying 4000-4500 and he said i can work with that. he emailed me pictures and the car looks really clean. the only thing im worried about is that crack in th bell housing. is what he said true about how thats not gonan cause any problems with the car. i could buy the other one though and find out it needs a new tranny. which one should i go for. i couldnt find any good ones with a 1.8T

If it really is a tiny crack where you wouldn't notice it being there, or it's not leaking, he's being honest and it sounds like it's pretty much stock in mint condition. Honesty is a big thing when buying a car. Thats my opinion.

The first car sounds nice, and if it felt right when you drove it, thats also a good sign. It's really up to you and I don't see any red flags jumping up, so I guess this might come down to a judgement call.

wow the first guy really sucks at selling things, he didnt even put any of the important information down about the car, just the fuckin upgrades. Fail. I say the second one.

is the first one 1.8 or 2.8?

how many miles on the first one?

And with rims and a CAI was it a young kid who beat the shit out of it?

I would go with the second one, only because it is stock. Generally cars where anything other than the body has been modded means it has been driven pretty hard. Just my $0.02 though.

i decided on the first one. the guy emailed me before saying that someone tried to break into the car and the locks were broken. i think hes just trying to cover up for a bigger problem. he wanted 4k for a 99 with 123k. there has to be something wrong

I personally would buy the one without the mods. Usually cars with mods have owners who drove the car's engine "harder" than cars with no mods. Of course, there are exeptions of people who don't due mods and drive their engine/tranny to sh*t. And vice-versa tuners like us who mod our car's and try to baby them (mostly). My .02 cents
