Its a Haltech Interceptor, for those who dont know are a company out of Australia and pretty big in the Subaru and DSM world. I wanted to do something a bit different and save a bit of cost while adding versatility and giving the ability to change hardware other then 034 standalone (not knocking them, i have tons of their gear) or being stuck with a boxed tune i cant change hardware. I did a significant amount of research and was told it couldnt be done by some people i wont name on this and other forums. So after asking a couple shops and tuners i decided to give this route a try.
Now on to tech stuff:
I have a stock 557p ECU. The Haltech controls fuel, timing, and boost while leaving the stock ECU to control most of the other stuff. I ditched the N75 and went with a boost solenoid from Haltech and added a 3.5 bar MAP sensor from GM for tuning and fueling. Haltech luckily had a map for a DBW VW that worked out of the box as far as idle and normal boost/fuel setup. They wouldnt say it would work with my car though of course :-) This made things quite a bit easier. To get it to work with the fuel cut due to the MAF levels on the NDBW there had to be some scaling changes to the MAF signal and fudging with the fuel pressure manually to get it to work. Other then that its typical tuning stuff, timing, fuel, and boost control. I have a 110 file and a 93 file on the Haltech with a flip switch to change maps. I can still use Vag-Com to diag all the other things as well.
I am getting ready to ship off to Uni another ECU to have the fuel cut removed, rev limiter raised to 7700ish and speed limiter removed. They mentioned they may be able to remove the MAF completely but im not sure if thats a reality yet. This should be the only changes i will need going forward to the OEM ECU.
I hope that covers it.

Ps. I had a Mika tune before that and Uni will be overwriting it :-)
