32 offset on a B6 S4?

Anyone out there running a 32 offset? I know it works on a B5, but not sure about a B6. Also, as a tech question, I understand what offset is, but which wheel would have a deeper lip, a 35 offset or a 45 offset? One more quickie, what does the "et" stand for when talking about offset. I often see 35et offset, what's the "et"?

Its my understanding that offset has nothing to do w/ lip size. Lips on a 35 and a 45 can be the same depending upon the construction of the rim and how the spokes come off of the center portion of the rim. The offset is just going to push or pull in how flush the tire is w/ the wheel well. If i am wrong someone please correct me.

I remember reading a while back that it was a german word that translated to insertion depth..

"The offset is described by the term ET, which is from the German word 'Einpresstiefe' translated as 'insertion depth'. Most wheels have a positive offset which means the mounting surface is further outboard than the wheels centre. If you reduce the amount of positive ET on the wheel the the vehicles track is widened and vice versa if the ET number is reduced. Straying too far from the original offset can be detremental as fouling to the suspension and bodywork can occur as well as eccess strain on wheel bolts or studs"

as mentioned, the lip size has nothing to do with the offset, but I think what you're getting at is which one which one will poke more...a et35 will poke more than a et45. And I don't really understand that link above, how can you say et32 is the most aggressive possible without knowing the width? Plus thats just an opinion anyway, some people like more poke than others

I have some 18x8 RX's that are et32 and they fit just inside the fender..

Just put on some 19x9 et24 on the rear of my s4, no rubbing but I have a little bit of tire stretch to clear it

Ha, I'll take pics as soon as I can, I put them on the car last night and in the process, my jack failed, resulting in my S4 falling on my hand....Not really in the mood to take pics at the moment, but I will soon

Yes, which would poke more is a better way to put it. So it sounds like a 32 offset would be okay on a 2004 S4. It's lowered but only about .25. Thanks everyone for the assistance.
