Discount RS4 Mesh. The Answer to RS4 Bumper Mod $ woes

So we all know that the real deal RS4 mesh is the shit... But shelling out 75 per section for mesh that barely fits is a lot to spend on a little mod. I looked into having custom mesh made from industrial netting, the company that owns McMaster Carr, but it never worked out... I would of gotten a white, smaller diamond that would have been no where close, then had to paint it... So anyways

Here is what I bought... You get THREE oversized rectangle pieces for 88 dollars... It's from LLTEK. They do not advertise it that much on their site, because its what they use for their own bumpers when they make a sale.

I thought you would have taken out the middle piece on the side as well but then that entails body work and paint.

Thanks Vernon haha. Yeah, I was rocking the AUTOX look for some time . When you pay the 88 bucks, you get 3 pieces that are oversized. They sent me one for the middle but there is no way in this cold weather I'm fighting my bumper yet. Spring time I will get the center done :). Yep, its ABS Plastic.. Just get some good snippers super easy to cut. I just used LOCTITE Stik N' Seal to adhere it.

No problem Yeah, I only did the grilles for now because taking this bumper off requires a full day of rest prior, then like more rage than you can build up in a full year to get it off. So I'm building up until the spring and until its not 20* to tackle it. Little exaggeration of course but it will be nicer to do in the spring when I clean every crevice of the car after this winter.

Loctite Stik n' Seal Then used zip ties as I found points to secure... This stuff is pretty light, very easy to work with as long as you have a pair of shop scissors or metal snips. like a breeeeze

thanks a lot! I have the piece for the center, but as I said earlier I'm doing that in the spring... I hate fighting this bumper off so I'm just going to wait until the spring time Ive had no side grilles for like 6 months so to me, this is hugee. HA. Spring time though I will finish it

wait did you lose the caps for the headlight washers due to misting them whilst driving highway speeds or something? i keep seeing all these S4s without them. i mean of course it's a completely useless function to begin with but whenever i have the presence of mind to remember, i shut the headlights down before i spray the windshield. which reminds me, my wiper fluid light is on...

Not to jump to the S4 section, but to the OP: Are you saying that you can just call LLtek and order the 3 piece for $88? How did you get that price? Is it always going to be $88 but listed different on the website?

I did the RS4 Mesh Mod to my bumper on my A4. I found a guy selling ABS LLtek on ebay and got it for like $25 (yeah, I was happy I found it). Not to be "that guy", but your cut outs are rather off (no that it does not look good, because it does. just that you can see where you mis-measured the mesh when cutting). And you should have used Epoxy to get the mesh attached to the grill (that is what I used). I do not know how tough the Locktite is, but one nice ice chunk seems that it will push that mesh back. If you want pics of how mine came out, just request (even though it is the A4).

The reason I ask this post, is because I want to get an S4 bumper eventually (yeah, I always get a feeling S4 guys hate us using your bumper) because I want to go BAT and my stock bumper can not fit a bigger core. And the RS4 bumper (OEM) is just too pricey. If I can get the deal for $88 later, I will just save this thread to my subscritpions, then order later. But if I can only get it now, that info would be much appreciated (and process on how to get it for $88). Thanks!

yeah, deff made a few measurement mistakes But from a distance, they aren't noticable..

No special pricing... Just call up and say I'm looking for the ABS Plastic RS4 mesh and they will know what you mean. Tell them what kind of bumper and they will cut the pieces for you. They cut oversized rectangles.. Way oversized, very impressed with how much they give you... Loctite stik n seal is as strong as an epoxy, but I know what you are saying . I thought about it, this stuff was easier to control and is very very strong. I think I put the link to product up there but here ya go, at first it was 66 then they caught on

nah when we did his FMIC (now awe smic's) we took them off and he was going to glue them on but never did and hes to lazy to go and put them back on

I tried Epoxy and JB Weld. Neither worked for shit. So now the pieces are sitting in my garage and I'd like to do something about my bumper...

I haven't, but I deff. thought about it... I'm pretty confident in this stuff because its real light, compared to Home Depot aluminum mesh which I'm sure has some weight to it, this is plastic which is easier for a glue to bond together. The Loctite Stik N' Seal is some strong ass crap. All I did was find some contact points and really laid the glue on, then zip tied it down left it overnight and when i took it off, I could hit the mesh with a good amount of force and nothing was bending or snapping off.. I know that its easier to work with plastic since the glue can really bond together the bumper grille and the plastic much easier than holding a piece of alum. to a bumper.

no washer caps = mad HP . No, but what happened was I got this bumper from Shokan Auto Parts which is just a big AUDI only junkyard in upstate new york if you aren't from the area. So, the bumper came without a filler plate (where my euro plate covers it up nicely ), came without side grilles, (why I picked up a pair from AMC and had them painted, and the washer caps didn't come with as well... so, eventually I'll scoop some up and throw them back on. Like AMC said, its a bit of lazy. winter doesn't motivate me in the slightest.

My problem was actually with the attachment to the bumper. The epoxy wouldn't stick to that, but stayed on the metal.
