every 5 minutes or so my abs light will come on and then the brake light will blink next to it...then they both go off...then the process repeats itself...any ideas? the brakes themselves feel fine...

Re: abs light on and brake light blinking...why?

I am hoping someone can answer this one lol. When I drive for longer than a mile above 50 mph my brake light and abs light come on and stay on until I turn off then restart my car. I have a bad wheel bearing though (being replaced this weekend) and I was thinking that my bearing is heating up my ABS sensor causing a fault in the system, though I could be way off.

check your brake fluid, if it is low then that is why. If not then it may be your abs module on its way out.

    x7....

you can get just the electronic portion (repair kit) rather than replacing the pump. it can be replaced easily by removing the six long torx bolts on the side. access the tough ones by removing the lf wheel and liner, along with the upper washer fluid reservoir (iirc)

Re: abs light on and brake light blinking...why?

well i know the fluid is a little low because the front pads are low...but when i change the pads and push the pistons back the fluid will be where it should be again

I have the same problem. My ABS and brake light stay on though as soon as I start the car. It hasnt affected my brakes at all and as everyone else said, its almost 100% the ABS control module.
