I just got my ecu back from getting chipped and it won't run anymore. I put the ecu back into the car and i took it around the block. Pretty good improvement but when i got in front of my house it just died.

The symptoms: The car made a high pitched noise not like the regular sound i used to hear from the splitter. I tried to start it up to pull it into the driveway, it starts and then rpms drop and die right away. i replaced the coilpacks but the car just starts and dies instantly and has no CEL but a battery symbol. If i try to gas it to keep the car on the high pitch noise whistles and you can smell a lot of fuel.

im thinking it might be the fuel pump can't think of anything else.

test the fuel pump , don't start the car but turn on the ignition. and press on the gas pedal that should dump some gas and you should be able to smell the gas through your exhaust.

i've heard when the fuel pump dies or is on the way out it makes a high pitched whirring noise , is the noise coming from where the fuel pump should be?

did you make sure the ECU was seated in properly.
