OK back in November 2007 I ordered through GMG a CF hood made by Eurogear.
I paid shipping big time with FedEx choosing 2 day airfreight ($275 USD). I figured that was the best way to have the least amount of people handling it. Initial pick up to the airport, load on airplane, unload in Montreal and door delivery.
WRONG! FedEx screwed up big time. When I opened the box to my dismay my CF hood was broken, cracked in several places.
To make this story short I contacted Ryne at GMG and explained to him (sent him pictures too) what was wrong and his answer was "no problem I'll get you another hood".
Now the reason it took so long to get the replacement hood to me is we tried to no avail to get someone to manufacture one with louvers built in. I got fed up of waiting late this fall and we ordered from Eurogear again.
However I asked Eurogear for a special light weight version for my car. I'm glad to report that my new hood which arrived yesterday is in one piece and is a bit lighter than the previous hood by about 2 pounds. The first hood weighed between 17 and 18 lbs and this one seems to weigh between 15 and 16 lbs. The weight reduction came from keeping the bonding agents and clear to a minimum and from less material on the hood itself (on the inside portion).
Take a look at the pictures for the damages to the first hood and also to see the difference between the regular and light weight version.
Again thanks to Ryne at GMG for coming through for me on this. GMG did not make money on this and I'm sure they lost some. It's good to see some companies have the client's interest first.

Now this is the regular production version of the Eurogear CF hood. You can clearly see the Carbon Fibre weave used on the underside of this hood.
