Update on scan for work car

Following up on the "Check Engine" light. I went to Autozone and bought the Actron PocketScan OBDII. Scanned my 2001 Mazda 626 pre smog and that damn engine light on and this is what came up:

    DTC P0421

Warm up catalyst below threshold (Bank 1)

    Anyone know what that means?

Re: Update on scan for work car

A code P0421 may mean that one or more of the following has happened:

    * The catalytic converter is no longer functioning properly
    * An oxygen sensor is not reading (functioning) properly
    * A sparkplug is fouled up

Re: Update on scan for work car

Thanks for responding. I did just replace sparks last night and all were same color and never any rough driving what so ever. The car is suppose to only be driven when I go to Visalia twice a week but wife is driving my Audi and i'm stuck with this car 5 days a week. Car has 156K and no foul smells or anything. I obviously don't want to put anything in it except tires, and oil changes of course. I hope its not the cat. I couldn't get it smogged because the light was on.
