Friends, don't let your friends drive your car..... (with pics)

So, it's similar to responsible parenting.... You know, not leaving your kids in the car unattended, not letting them play around the stove, not letting them climb in the fireplace... what else can't they do? I don't have kids, so I'm not to good at this.
Anyways, there's a little snow... a little ice... your friend wants to try the quattro.... wants to feel the power of the S4, wants to lust after what all of us have come to expect from our cars.... And about 5 minutes later, the S hasn't even warmed up, and all the coolant is decorating the snow in front of you (punctured the aux radiator behind the drivers fog light), there are approximately 200 shattered plastic pieces that have exploded everywhere, and I'm minus one Audi......
So, after pulling my car from the snowbank, trailering it back home, and calling my insurance company , I am looking for some ideas....

What do you all think? Just put it back together stock? Make some modifications? Give me some ideas...... And thanks for the help!

What type of tires are those? If they aren't winter tires, it might be a good time to upgrade to that as well.

that sucks. never let someone drive your car that cant pay for it or has little experience. it is an s4 after all. it doesnt look to be too bad but you should have never let them drive it. i would make them pay for damages personally because they were behind the wheel

After further studying my opinion is it's your own fault. Those tires are in no condition to be driven on icy/snowy roads. Saying "I'll let you feel the power of Quattro" and letting someone drive the car for the first time with horridly balding tires in those conditions is asking for trouble. Naturally they are going to think the car has endless traction due to Quattro and push it a bit, which is what you are allowing them to do.

Don't get me wrong, I'm very sorry to see the pictures and for the damage to your car, but you clearly don't have proper tires for those conditions.

Too bad your buddy isn't liable for the damages since you gave permission to drive the car. I feel for you and have let friends drive my car in the past. They always tend to drive the car harder than I normally do and it is for this reason that I have ceased to allow anyone to drive the car. Now the only people who can drive my car are a few of the Audizine members that I personally know. That's it!

I am going up to Lake Tahoe this weekend and it is about an 8hr drive from where I live, I am going with a couple buddies and I was thinking about switching off the driving duties about half way through. But after seeing this I will be driving the whole way. I don't care if I have to pull over and sleep for an hour or whatever, no one is driving my baby.

In regard to the fixing, I would throw an oetty front like has been said before, get some m+s tires, and HID fogs, and hopefully you have learned your lesson, but even if you haven't I think I speak for the whole forum when I say, we have learned our lesson.

He never got the chance to feel the power. That was just a figure of speech. It happened within 3 minutes of starting the car. At the end of the driveway. Just icy and a light coating of snow. It was 8 or 9 degrees out and the snowbank he hit was the consistancy of concrete. Ouch

And, the pictures aren't clear, but in all honesty the tires are a little worn on the outside. My bad on that. I have driven in heavy snow and it feels fine, but that's me I guess.... Still no excuse.
