What's the ESP Button Do???

I had my b6 for 6 month's and dont know what the ESP button's for. When and when not to use it.??

Just kidding. Its a button to disable your traction control. The traction control is kind of like the little brain in your car that will try and correct the vehicle by itself when it notices it is sliding or having wheelspin (aka powerslide, braking hard, burnouts). The ESP will attempt to prevent the car from "losing control".

Turning this off will make it so that the car will NOT try to auto correct itself.

When you see the orange icon on the dash - I think it has a triangle with arrows encircling it - that means the traction control is off. If the icon isn't there, then you know it's on.

Also, the icon comes on when the ESP system engages. There's a real sharp curve heading up a steep incline in my parking garage, and when I take the curve, the ESP icon flashes for a few seconds as my tires try to slip.

haha yeah, a stupid girl got into my car once and asked what that button was for. i told her it was the doughnut button. she was like "WTF?"

she then later told me she seriously thought that if you pushed it your car would start to do doughnuts uncontrollably.

yea and the esp engages whenever one of your tires loses traction and it stops it from spining.

The ESP button is to turn the Electronic Stability Program OFF, it does not effect the Electronic Traction Control function.

i used a sharpy on my radio preset buttons that are peeling, and it all wore off too... very annoying and ugly to look at.. i was considering trying to plasti dip it by possibly take a big piece of strong paper, cutting out the pieces for the radio buttons, almost like a stencil, and sticking it over the radio and spraying that ish, but i dont want to pull my radio out or do it in my car and have that crap smell in there forever
