USP went bye bye

Well, the end of my driveway with accumulated snow decided to eat my USP bumper, and now its apart... Suxors, pictures to come...I noticed that my paint cracked as well under my clear bra... Sigh... more money to spend. Roaring start for 2009!

It should be repairable, but I think i need to repaint the front. I guess thats going to be fun this summer, very tempted to do S6 LED's on the top part of the USP bumper, and mold onto it.

Vinny - Where are you going to be getting it painted? (assuming you do) I still have my USP pieces that need painted, but I haven't found anyone that I trust yet. I know you had a bad experience with the guy that Stefan recommended.

Yea, but sadly I'm going to go to him again, since this was not suppose to happen. The guy that Stefan recommended was a family business. The crook was the dad, which apparently got kicked out by the sons. So maybe if I get llucky, i can get them to give me a decent discount at least if they repaint it. I'll let you know Brandon.

My front bumper fell off too....
however i was acting like a snow plow...
just rippin around in to much snow... the car is a beast, but the kit coudnt handle it...
to top it off... I may have to replace it... they dont think that it can be fixed!

The DIY USP bumper isn't super strong as the overlap section is weak. That is why I had a skeleton made to take care of that.

Even then I'm scared to drive around without my splitter attached to help knock things out of the bumpers way.

Well the USP is only attached together where the center splines overlap. The fig grills do add a bit of structural strength but not a lot.

With my shaved USP bumper it would flex and the molded section would crack before paint.

So I had the bodyshop guys fabricate a pair of T's that fit in behind the center spines, used bondo to mold the long part of the T into the back of the spine and had the top of the T riveted to the top section of the bumper.
