Do you guys change your own oil usually?

I need to change mine now, and was thinking of just going to jiffy lube and giving them a filter to use. I don't have any tools or an oil tray.

BTW, do you buy your filters from the mainland, or buy from a store here?

    Thanks guys.

Its been very quiet in here lately.

Re: Do you guys change your own oil usually?

I do mine during the warm months and when I am bored, becaus I am perfectly capable of doing so. But If I need it I'll go to Mobil 1 and just pay the few bucks, I only resort to this during the winter time, but I always try to winterize my cars around October to avoid this. Use a high quality filter if you can.

if you need a place to change it, just buy the oil, filter, and oil feed box and i'll help you out. just changed mine a month ago. all you need is a 19mm ratchet to get the drain plug off. i buy my filters from hawaii import parts on ilaniwai st. next to revolutions.

thanks guys, I do it on my own back home too, but didn't bring any tools with me here, so was wondering if it was worth the cost to get the tools....or was hoping a kind samaritan would offer his garage!

Either way, thanks 808, you have pm.
does hawaii import parts have a mann filter? or what filter you use? TIA

Damn man, sorry I missed you again when I got back from my trip. I would of helped you out with your oil change. Just rushing around doing to many things. Probably have to wait to ride in your car when I ship mine there in a coupe months. And how is the search for a single turbo, ;-)

Talking about oil changes, I have two extra oil filters laying around my garage that I never used. They are for a B5 S4. If anybody wants them, you can have them for free. I forgot the brand name but I got them from Pure Motorsports. I think it was called Hengst.

No worries man, I am here for a while.

I asked deb38 about his kit, that thing is progressing at a snail's pace, the other dude also. BUt the Ko4s are fine for now..besides, there is nowhere for me to drive here! Any roads that are big enough have police all over them! Shoot.

I wait until about 1 A.M.. and then I come out and drive around here. I go through waikiki sometimes and look at the people, and the hookers and all the cops everywhere.. And sometimes I think of how many people are all banging each other in all the hotels over all the years ,thats alot of banging man.

I am trying to trap a pig in this trap I have up in the mountain so I can put it in the trunk and release it in waikiki so it can gore someone's anus, but it keeps busting through my trap..

    heh. jk, but anyways.

I'm meeting Boris in about 15 minutes to give him both. Maybe if he's feels generous he'll give you the 2nd one. Of course, he could always charge you $10 for it too

Hey HIS4, thanks for the filters! HIS4 is a real nice guy, and his M3 looks amazing. I really never knew they were that good looking in person.

Yeah Will you can have the other filter of course.

No man, they would bust me for something stiff. Haha! Call me the pig snatcher or something. Well I am still waiting on Gino and his wife's brother for a pig outing.

Thanks Lloyd, You the man...And a thanks goes out to HIS4.

I test drove a M3 sedan, RS4, and C63. I loved all three cars. Was pretty set on the RS4, but I am coming closer to the C63. C63 seems like a fun car to drive around. The interior just eats at me, but when you start it ohhh my so lovely. The M3 was cool but the price, plus the sales person kind of killed it for me. I hope you are loving you M3 HIS4.

I never got to drive the C63 because MB didn't have any on the lot and they told me they don't bring any in unless someone orders it. They said I could have ordered it and then test drove with no obligation to buy but that would have meant at least a 6 month wait just for a test drive. From all that I've read, the C63 is a lot more raw than the M so I think for a daily driver the M is a better choice.

I didn't drive the RS4 either because I didn't want another manual car but just by sitting in it I could tell that it wasn't for me. That and the Audi sales guys were just dicks. You would think that being a previous Audi owner they would have treated me a little better but they acted like I wasn't worth their time.

I also wanted to test drive the IS-F but Lexus said you have to buy without test driving. Yeah right! Who buys a $60k car without driving it? In the end, I think I made the right choice. No regrets! The feeling of revving a V8 to 8400 RPM is just crazy (I've only done it once)!
