S4 mirrors on silver A4

Do any of you have matte aluminum S4 mirrors on a silver A4?
How does it look? is there enough contrast?

this is something i always wanted to know also...

basically you have your OEM s4 mirrors.. which are a brushed alum

then this company inpro makes chrome mirrors, and a replica brushed aluminum..

supposidly the inpro brushed alum just looks like a painted matte silver.. so i doubt there would be much contrast on a light silver car. which makes me want to get chrome mirrors so you can actually see a difference

another member nsmith has a light silver car, and he had the inpro chrome mirrors, and just got some OEM s4 mirrors, and he said he would post some comparison pics when he gets the new mirrors in which should be soon

in the meantime heres a pic of another members car that i had saved to look at the contrast to see if s4 mirrors would look good on a light silver. the last thing i would want would be to buy new mirror caps and it look exactly like the original stock ones



ps- i think this car is soooooo sick. its soo clean and tastefully modded

It won't look exactly like the original silver ones, cause the matte aluminum isn't pearl effect, probably the base color is a little bit different, too. But still, it probably won't be very high contrast.

If you look at a cabriolet, it has matte aluminum trim around the windshield and underneath the windows. I imagine that's the same finish as the matte aluminum S4 mirror housings. So here's a picture of a silver cabriolet to show how much contrast there is. The mirrors here are the body silver (unless Euro A4 are different), and you can see the aluminum trim.

if you get the inpro brushed alu, they will look like your stock silver. My friend went this route and was not happy, I sold him a set of brushed alu and it made a world of difference, but still not enough as the polished look.

well my point of view and only my opinion. I have seen how inpro looks on a silver b7. The brushed ones look more silver than brushed look. The mirrors looked stock. The inpro chrome, are too chrome.

I personally never been a fan of in.pro, but they are 2x cheaper than oem (used).

the best option, is what you can afford, what I always offered everyone, when I sold a mirror; was as to order inpro and if they dont like it come back to me, 9 out of 10 would come back.

I have read many people on the forums very happy with their inpro mirrors, so take this with like a grain of salt.

well the day has come, I got them at 5pm and installed them but its too dark for pics now. I'll have a triple comparison tomorrow between:

1. In pro chrome
2. OEM light silver
3. OEM s4 aluminum finish

I'll have a pic of each of them on my car and you guys can determine the difference. I have to say the difference between the stock silver ones and the s4 ones is negligible and not worth 300+. I got mine for $220 so I'm a happy camper since I also sold the In pro ones.

Just wait to see them tomorrow and let me know what you think. I might end up going back to stock and getting rid of the s4 ones if I decide its not even noticeable

One thing that might pop the whole look...........find a way to black-out the inside of your headlights. I think that'd give it a really mean face.

Now that I have had the s4 mirror covers for two days and in the sunlight I'm really happy with the look. They are a subtle change and I like it alot.

nate i definitely agree with what you have been saying for the most part...

the inpro chromes look a little 'too' chrome

the s4 ones and the stock ones look sooooo damn similar that its hard to justify spending $250+ on them... BUT there is a subtle difference that IS noticable. its something about how the light reflects off of them where you can see the difference. and im sure in person you can notice it even more.

looks very good though. i want the s4 mirrors but they are pretty expensive and i can think of other mods id rather have or save towards than something so subtle. but they do look damn good!

oh and the phantom black grille will look dope!.. i wanna pop out my grille and paint it black, but im going to leave the chrome trim, and i'll leave the chrome stips in the filler plate also.

i want to see pics of the grille also when you get it!

I have both but the ones that are on the car are the ABS, if you want the aluminum let me know, I'll probably give those up
