Time to Finally replace the window

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Some of you might have read my thread about my car getting broken into and me unsure of whether I was going to do the replacement myself or take it to a body shop. Well I finally got in the window piece last friday and it turns out that they sent me the WRONG ONE! they sent me the driver side and not the passenger side front like I needed. Anyways I'm going to have a new passenger side front window tommorow, I've been searching the forums for a DIY on taking off the passenger side door panel, but haven't been able to find one. anyone have any pictures of what screws to take out and where the tabs are on the inside, i'm really trying not to break any tabs. THANKS IN ADVANCE!

If nobody answers you by tonight, send me a PM reminder and I'll search my Bentley DVD when I get home.

No offense, but, if you need guidance on removing the door panel, maybe replacing a window isnt a good idea for a DIY.

Or, maybe he hasn't removed it before and doesn't want to break any hidden clips or other shit?

It's all good, I know that its probably going to be a tough task, but if i never do it myself how am i going to learn? I really want to learn to do my own maintenance. thanks for the input though

Re: Time to Finally replace the window

from what i have seen of the doors (replaced all my audio) it shouldnt be too bad. the door card is easy

    1. pop the trim off from the front back (3 clips I believe)
    2. thre are screws behind the trim (4?) and one screw in the handle
    3. Then pull hard on door card (go ahead and break the clips, they are really cheap at the dealer and after a clip has been used and removed once, it loses its integrity a bit, so better off buying new ones.
    4. unclip the door handle and speaker wires (on top of speaker housing)

There is a great thread on AW I believe. Ill look for it and post it up

I hooked him up with some stuff - there is a good window regulator DIY on AZ, and I had some Bentley scans.

That's a good one, too. (except for the utility knife on the leather seat!)
