Just swap it for a used trans. JHM is the only group I know of that rebuilds Audi transmissions.

    Re: upgrade tranny parts

You might want to check to see if the shift linkage slider bolt didn't break, there are 2 of them that go into the sides of the transmission housing. The one on the passanger side on mine broke and I could no longer get into 1st and 2nd gear.

    Re: upgrade tranny parts

What Mike said happened to me in my B6 once. I couldnt keep the car in any gear unless I held it in gear then took off. If i didnt do that it would pop out and I could never find reverse.

This is the part that broke

It goes through the side of the tranny into that bar pictured.

IF that is what happened you can just reach in with some needle nose pliers and pull the piece out through the side of the case and slide the new one in and screw it into the case without taking the tranny out or anything.

    Re: upgrade tranny parts

I guess lots of hard shifting wore it out and then one time ripping through 1st shipping into 2nd it didnt go in gear. I thought I missed the gear but it popped out from the thing breaking. The part was like $25
