Sad to hear. My Stage III WRX was stolen a few years back, and my friends 05 STi was stolen last year, my WRX was recovered 3 months later parted out, and his STi was never recovered.

WRX/STis are the new Civic up here sadly. The brake kit alone sells for 1200 and the wheels another 1500, sucks cause people get their entire car jacked for just the wheels/brakes.

Same goes for the Honda s2000 scene, I hear their roofs are being slashed left and right due to the fact that the seats sell for 1500-2000 a pop, and insurance then has to total the car since the roof and seats replacement totals something outrageous of $10k-ish :(

He was Stage 2 and had about 600 miles on a $700 clutch. Not to mention to $85 floor mats I bought for him last Christmas! I'm guessing it's being parted out which sucks. He had a good $5,000 in mods to that car. Luckily he didn't have his fog lights installed.

I am 100%positive I saw this car earlier tonight around 6 at the u-district qfc area. I was driving towards u-district and a white guy with brown hair came up next to me, reved the motor a couple times, then cut me off. I distinctly remember LEM on the license plate. Give me a call tomorrow at 425-761-4824 and I'll try to get more info if I can.

I will give you a call in the morning. I just talked with my buddy and that's just down from him, not far at all. There is a really good chance you may have seen his car. Did you by chance notice if the trunk was debadged?

I can't specifically recall, but the trunk was either completely shaved, or it still had the STi emblem and everything else was shaved.

Well they found it, so far here is what's been taken:

Wheels/tires
Brakes
Everything in the engine but the block, IE turbo, manifolds, exhaust, everything
Interior completely gone

It's completely gutted and probably totaled.

Sounds like somebody wanted to make over their stock WRX

sorry to hear about the car, but "cheap" flashy fast cars like that are targeted because thief's know most owners have dumped a lot of money into them mainly on expensive pretty much untraceable after market parts...

at least now you have a track car, RB26DETT!!! and a full Voltexs racing track kit!!!

Also sorry if I didn't make it clear, it's my friends car, not mine. Mine is safely sitting in the driveway.

I'll post up pics when I get them. It wasn't able to be seen today, they had a heck of a time getting it up the embankment it was slid down. It was in Arlington too. Not to cool. On the upside insurance will cover the whole thing along with the aftermarket parts.

For 95% of the parts, without tax, shipping, and some labor (we would have done most of the work) the cost to bring it back with stock parts was $23,687. Needless to say it's totaled and he will be buying another car.

Is there a Subaru/WRX Forum with a local section? Look on there to see if there are any parts for sale or if there is some local kid bragging about how his stock WRX just got some new mods. Just an idea.

Also they left the turboback exhaust, which is worth over $1k. So he really doesn't want to have to buy another one of those, plus the tranny and engine are mostly good. I can't really see him not buying it, but if he doesn't, I'll let you know.
