Did anyone take the plunge and get a Bugaboo stroller for their child? If so, how does it fit in trunk of S4? My wife really wants to get one and I am not sure how well it will fit.

    TIA

Don't know how it will fit, but those are so expensive, they literally require a down payment and financing LOL.

DAMN expensive. No experience, but I think I'd pass and get one of those $19.99 umbrella ones from target and do more mods to your car.

    Re: Strollers

I've got a bugaboo and it's great. It fits into the trunk with plenty of room to spare. There are several styles of the Bugaboos with the flagship being the Cameleon which is what we got. It's a great stroller and the kid will always be comfortable in it. Paid $895 plus tax.

There are several other new strollers that are on par with the Bugaboo now and you should check them out. There is also a stroller called "The City" for $199 and it's great for the money. Not the most comfortable for the kid but it's probably the best at quickly folding up and getting into and out of the car. If you could fabricate a nicer seat cushion for the kid, then it's probably the way to go. Great handling and super easy to manage. I may be picking one up in the near future for an extra stroller.

If you get the bugaboo, make sure to grab the cup holder for an additional $29. It's totally worth it.

Good Luck! BTW< also check out the Bob jogging strollers as they also seem very popular.

Thanks Ed. Did you end up getting the Peg Perego car seat adapter as well? The bugaboo can't be used as a car seat so it will need a full time car seat in the car as well. We live in NYC now but will be moving to suburban NJ in a few months so the bugaboo will be going in and out of the car quite a bit. Did you find any good deals on it b/c I can't seem to locate any type of online coupon for it.

I also see that you have the RS4 (B7) and I have an S4 (B6). Do you know if there is any difference w/ the trunk space between the two. From what I saw in the store, it should fit fine into the trunk but just want to make sure before I take the plunge.

one last thing...why did you go w/ the chameleon over the frog? Was it mainly the color options?

    thanks

    Re: Strollers

Just be careful to check how quick and to what size it collapses.

My sister-in-law has one (not sure the exact model) but we were at Disneyland with her and she was always at a disadvantage when she had to collapse it to get on the tram etc..

FWIW we did the Peg Perego and have no complaints.

    Re: Strollers

We have a 'Bob' stroller. Which ironically, I will be putting up on ebay soon as my little one doesn't need it anymore. Great stroller, it was $389 I believe, light, folded down nicely and was a breeze to push in a crowded mall.

    Re: Strollers

Both the B6 and the B7 have the same size trunk so you're good there.

I started this whole ordeal with a Peg Perego infant seat, two Peg seat bases (1 for each car) and a Bugaboo Stroller. Had to also purchase a set of the Bugaboo adapters to attach the Peg Perego seat to the bugaboo. It's the only way to go as when the kid falls asleep in the car, you can just transfer him/her to the stroller.

I ended up selling the Peg Perego as it only held a 22 lb child. The new ones go to 30lbs. Still have the adapters and they are being sold for $25 shipped.

    Re: Strollers

Umbrella stroller, my wife went out and bought some huge ass humer size stroller and I refuse to use it. Umbrellas were good enough for me and my brother in the 70's, so its sure as shit good enough now. With that said, if you want a jogging stroller, the jeep one works fine and isn't that expensive...

My kid was deprived with her domestic Graco infant seat/stroller. Only recently has she gone Euro with her Chicco stroller and Recaro child seat. LOL. Still no Peg Perego/Bugaboo, though. That's just out of my league.

That's the exact Bugaboo we have and yes, it will fit in your trunk but don't expect to fit too much more in there gracefully. As far as the stroller itself and being worth the money...ya, I think so. Mine has been through numerous beach vacations and try pushing a normal stroller through sand. This thing will just go anywhere. I have only had one small part break and the Bugaboo support is top notch.

Honestly though, if the S4 is your main kid hauler I would probably go another route. We usually load this thing into my wife's ML (along with the kids) and don't even have to collapse it all the way.

there are $100,000 Corvettes and $50,000 show Scions...I have the money, but doesn't mean I'm buying one!

what's special about the Bug to warrant the price tag?

p.s. is this the one that was on the office?

Yeah x2, I'd love to know. $1000 for a stroller seems excessive, but there must be something about it...

Sakimano, you ask why we get the Bugaboo? It's one of the only strollers that has OEM parts to mod. I have already done the cupholder mod and an umbrella mod is next on the list. lol

just did some research (was going to buy one as a gift for cousin)

bugaboo must look good or something because it's near the bottom.

Gotta like the Graco...and it's called a Quattro to boot.

    Re: Strollers

I've seen the Graco Quattro Boot..I thought Audi guys would like it b/c of the Quattro in the name, but it's a bit bulky and made of cheap plastic. As Ed said previously, it also depends on what type of terrain you go through as well. The Bugaboo can go through pretty much anything (beach, grass, snow etc). The Bugaboo is also one of the easiest strollers to push; so you can actually multitask instead of driving w/ two hands and fight with the road and steering.

At the end of the day, it's still a luxury item and one can do just fine w/ any of the strollers that were on the Consumer Reports list.

    Re: Strollers

I have the Chicco stroller and it barely fits. We are expecting are second child so I am looking at the Maclaren twin stroller. Looks like it will fold up smaller than our Chicco single stroller. I also have 2 Recaro COMO child seats. They are ridiculously big. I don't recomend the Recaro for the fact it is so big and doesn't fit well in any of our cars including my full size Power wagon. I bought a Sunshine Kids Radian65 Convertible Car Seat. It is much smaller and fits lower and tighter to the back seat for more room. Its made of steel and heavy. Its as good of a high quality car seat is going to fit in the S4.

    Re: Strollers

When I lived in NYC my wife wanted one of these, I checked it out and the Peg-Prego Aria. The Bug was going to be a bitch to get around with yes it is nice but a $1000 nice, nope. The Aria weighs about 11-12 lbs, is a full sized stroller has cup holder and tray underneath. Knowing I had to lug it around and it was around $250-300, and got good reviews it was a great choice.

What ever you decide, make sure you physically touch and push one to make sure it is what you want.

    Re: Strollers

I had one and just sold it on ebay. It was like new. It fits in the car fine, but it is heavy and pretty bulky. We ended up getting a Maclaren too, much lighter. I would go for the Bee, personally. However, I just had twins and now have someother stroller that my wife wanted, a baby jogger.
