after 2 years of having this car im getting a evolution raceworks 3" - 2.5" test pipe. going to hook it up with the foulers installed. here's my question.....will having the o2 sensor that high up, to avoid a CEL, cause the car to run rich due to the fact that it wont detect as much fuel in the exhaust gases? or am i just a retard?

bought two 18mm anti-foulers from pep boys. drilled them out with a 9/16 drill bit (the biggest that would fit) and guess what?! o2 sensor did not fit inside?

need to hollow it out with that bit then until it fits, so i've read. And I thought only the top anti-fouler got drilled...not the first one.

You mean the threads won't fit? Cause if thats the case they make 02 sensors in different threads, sorry to tell ya that now... and I don't remember the threads for ours.

The front O2 sensor (pre-cat) is the wide-band sensor that affects your fueling. The rear sensor is the "tattletale" sensor that gives you a P0420 code. It doesn't affect your fueling. You can try the "Wayne cure" Clicky click. That seems to be the one that gives the best results on the B5's and some B6's.

    Good luck!

    Re: o2 fouler

Interesting thought. So, I want to do a catch can with a exhaust vacuum, as well as a test pipe. I don't have to do emissions or anything so all of that is mute. Would it be possible to find a check valve/one-way valve that would fit onto the rear o2 sensor and then pull my vacuum from there?

Also, isn't there a chip that can remove the code for the rear O2 anyway?

You want these ones. They're an 18mm short anti fouler pack. The packaging could be different so just match up the part #. And then you only want to drill out 1 of the anti foulers. The side that has the tiny hole on it so that when you screw the o2 sensor into it, it will actually fit. Then that anti fouler screws into the other one so the o2 sensor is essentially inside the other anti fouler. Then you screw that whole assembly into the o2 sensor's spot on the test pipe. And it will be the 2nd sensor (farthest from the turbo).

So essentially the combination of the sensor being spaced farther out and the little hole preventing more exhaust from getting to the sensor makes it think you have a catalytic converter. I did this on mine and it has been working for over 3k miles now.

And for reference it will look like this

    So according to this.

    http://vibrantperformance.com/catalo...0e406e5439ee27

    An O2 sensor has a M18 adapter.

    As does this guy.

So, my question is. Even tho it wouldn't be angled. Couldn't you use the rear O2 hole as a vacuum scavenger?

i don't know, i didn't do anything fancy with mine, just the simple anti fouler install. Took me 5 minutes, no problems at all with the 02 sensor either.
