Thumbs up GSG Powdercoated Rotors Installed

I recently had to do my rear brakes and figured I would try out the GSG powdercoated slotted/drilled rotors. The quality on the rotors is top notch. Fitment is perfect and shipping was super fast. Even with the holiday season it took 2 days to reach my door. I only did the rears because that's all I needed to replace, but I think I'm going to order the fronts as well. The best part is that when the powdercoating comes off, the holes and slots stay black. I'm really impressed with the product quality and customer service. The GSG FMIC and CAI are next. Here are some before and after pics (i suck with a camera). I know the car is hella dirty but I had a recent back injury and I cant even wash my car

OVERALLL, the black zinc rotors, when used for more than 5 miles, the black will dimenish from the rotors, but inside the dimples and slotted sections will stay black...

What happened to my pieces..Im very happy still :P

Not sure if you were referring to me, BUT.
I did experience some sqeaking for the first 200 miles and before a wash. Everything seemed to be normal to me, and I only heard the clicking in the beg. Not even sure if it was what ur referring to or not, I figured it was just the black on the rotors going off with the NEW pads and NEW rotors. Just wearing in sounds I thought they were.

Right now i do not have my car so I'll be able to tell you more once I get it bk.

    Re: GSG Powdercoated Rotors Installed

I have the GSG front rotors as well. I like em, I don't hear a clicking noise, under hard braking (60 to 5) mph you can kind of feel/hear a quick stutter of the pads passing over the cross drilled holes, but it's not distracting and actually feels like the car is grabbing more.

A set of 19" R8 rims is on it's way so I'll take some pics of the rotors (should look pretty money), for some reason the black on the inside of my dimples and slots has worn away, not sure if road salt messed with the paint, but they still look great (minus some rust in the slots).

Yea..bottomline, painted rotors is just a no go...should just go with plain colored or silver...I figured my black wouldnt hold up but was worth a shot, I was the guinea pig for my friends, haha. There are such rotors out that are infused with black zinc i beleive and they stay completely black...not sure tho :/

    Re: GSG Powdercoated Rotors Installed

They're not painted or zinc. They are powdercoated using the standard coating\baking process.
Road salts are infused with chemicals and WILL indeed take that off, but the most standard rain and non snow driving the powdercoating should remain in tact within the slots and holes.

    Re: GSG Powdercoated Rotors Installed

Yes we tried just doing the holes and slots before but it didn't always turn out top notch so this was a much more efficient way to ensure they get fully and evenly coated by doing the entire rotor.
The face is supposed to wear off due to pad friction and the holes\slots\hats should stay powdercoated and rust free (unless you're driving on salted\chemical treated roads which can eat that away as well)
