    Infiniti G37x vs Audi S4

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
    hey everyone
so finally after hanging onto my S4 and driving my dads car and busting my rear working like crazy, i can trade in my S4 + with the cash i can go ahead and get a new ride. The two on the table are leasing a G37x or Buying an 01.5-02 S4(Not Nogaro haha). Now the G37x is a really nice car(auto, i know ) but it comes with a warranty, offers a comfortable ride as well. But the S4 is a great car as well, i would get it in a 6-speed as im tired of Tips. But i just needed some opinion from people who are more experienced on the S4 than me.

The things i am taking into consideration are:

    1. Warranty- MOST important. I don't want to be shelling out cash like crazy and i know S4's have a tendency to burn up someone's cash supply quick! Is there any way to get a warranty for them so that everything is covered? I know with the G37x, theres a factory warranty offered and additional coverage offered as wel, so that would take care of my problems. Infiniti's are usually reliable, but one never knows what they will get from any manufacturer.

    2. Appeal- I would like my car to be attractive and an eye turner, not just some ho-hum car on the road, yet be overstated with 500lbs of fiber glass hanging off of it like lots of cars that are out there. Looks wise, other than lowering and tinting, i wouldnt be looking at doing anything else. This is the one i am clueless on, on which one would look better. Thats why im looking for some objective

    3. Speed- I want to go fast(obviously).

Let me know what you think about these 3 issues as i am struggling making my decision.

    Thanks

    Lets keep it simple.

You don't want to shell out any cash on repairs, get the Infiniti. I had an 05' FX45 for 2 years and I beat the shit out of it, I never went to the dealer and I never had a problem.

They aren't terrible at 13.7 in the 1/4, but in this forum? Not so much.

What are the terms of the lease? Insurance and Miles?

Whats that in comparison to the S4 your looking at?

S4 are money pits but they are extremely rewarding sleepers. I just beat on G37s Yesterday, yeah i might be stage 3, but the look on his face was priceless.

Run the math, if EXPECTED repairs are to be less on your S4 over the life of the lease of the G37 stick where you are and save some cash. If its more go the other way. If you just want a newer car get a deal on an 08 a4 and Stage III it.

you can get an an E55 AMG

Alot of better cars you can get then the G37 IMO

G37 is sexy, but if you're tired of tips, why get another automatic? There are more options as others have already suggested. Get the car that offers everything you're looking for instead of settling. Just my 2 cents.

Leases are rip offs. If you get the Infiniti, just buy it. Leasing is just a very expensive way of renting a car. Do the math, it is always cheaper buying a car.

    Every person's situation is different.

It all comes down to where your money will work the best for you. If your lease rate is LESS than the rate of return where your money is parked, then it makes sense to lease. The residual is often inflated on a lease, whereas if you bought it and sold it at the same time your lease would have been up, you'll end up losing more money than the leased amount.

To the OP, you said you wanted to lower and tint the car for the appeal.

Just as an FYI -- most dealerships/manufacturers will void the warranty if you alter the suspension. Changing the springs/shocks will "put strain on other parts" and they will not cover them because they "wouldn't have gone bad with the stock suspension"

My good friend has been going back and forth with the dealer on his 2006 Honda Civic SI, all he has done is get an intake and they voided the warranty on him.

I'd be careful with that. Also, I personally like the G35's better, but they are far from fast as hell.

Modding a leased car? I dont think so. Leasing is a waste, G37 is a waste. If you want new(er) I would go with BUYING a bmw 335 or get a b6/7 s4.

+1. The circumstances, duration and math determine whether leasing is better than buying, or vice versa.

Eh, I personally wouldn't call it fast as hell, and like they said, I wouldn't extensively modify a leased car personally. Add to that the cost of supercharging it and you could have the sickest other car instead.

I know G37's are a whole different animal, but I beat my buddy's 4 door G35 in my stage 1+ 1.8t B6 A4 (supposedly like 225 or 245 hp or something). Granted his is an auto and I'm a stick and he probably didn't brake boost, but 60+ more hp and relatively the same weight you think he'd beat me.

On the other hand, I can definitely appreciate a reliable, cheaper to fix G37x for a daily car as well. Just like I can for the last body style TL. Completely different applications to me though because I can guarantee almost any stage 2 S4 will completely rape either.

If one were to get the G37, I wouldn't supercharge it because to me then it would just be like a novelty so you could say, "Yo, I got a supercharged G37." You could have a faster car with just as nice of an interior etc for the same or less (chipped 335i and 535i sound nice:-)).

Some of those turbo'd G's I hear are pretty nasty though I hear they have traction issues just like every other high hp RWD car.
