I'm just wondering if I bought the right size, but is the K&N filter suppose to be about half the size to the original air filter? and it was a hassle to get it in securely.

Mine was def. a pain in the ass to get to fit in. And to make it worse it was like 15 degrees out when I was doing it so my little fingers were frozen.

    Re: K&N Air Filter

sounds like the guys having a hard time getting it in were not popping off the bottom of the air box where the hinges catch. AFE has better oiling compounds over K&N FYI. Personally I'd try the new dry AFE filter.

I got mine at Kragen. They had to order it but it came in 2 days later. Easy install and much better than my old CAI.

    Re: K&N Air Filter

No performance gains will be noticed. Hardly if any sound differences. Just make sure you lightly oil the filter and let it COMPLETELY dry before installing it and driving around. Your best bet is to oil it at night before you go to sleep and let it dry over night, then reinstall in the morning.

Mine came preoiled out of the box. I just threw it in and that was it. It's been in for about 2 weeks now. Am I at risk of anything??

I thought you put the oil in the filter to help attract dirt and you have to soak up the excess so you dont screw up the maf.

    Re: K&N Air Filter

Has anyone seen any increased fuel economy due to the K&N air filter install?
They claim it improves gas millage...though I am skeptical.
