    good deal or no?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
so long story short, my 01 gti big turbo blew up on me. ive had an a4 in the past 1.8t. now i really want a s4. found a black 2000 s4 6spd with 62k miles on her for 8500, only catch is that it has a rebuilt title. it was a theft recovery car. everything was put back to oem spec, and it has a new trans and new motor mounts. is this a good deal or no. i will be dailying the car, with bolt ons of course. my goal with the car will be to get 300 awhp on stock k03s, which i know is possible. so my question is do i go for it or do i keep looking for a clean title s4?

Hey man... I sold a grille to you a while back :-p.... That sounds to be a good deal... Stage 2+ with a custom tune for methanol injection will get you right around 300WHP, depending on the dyno.

If you don't plan on selling the car again I say go for it, rebuilt titles are a PIA to sell....

    Re: good deal or no?

If you are going to keep it - Good Deal

But I think you can find a similar car without a rebuilt title - there is a ton of s4's out there right now...

But Check the frame and make sure it is straight...but sounds like it might be a great pickup

I think you can get the price down, and if not its not worth it. Unless you keep it for life that is.

i normally wouldnt either but this is a theft recovery not an accident, i care more that the body is in good condition meaning frame not bent etc. and all the parts that have been stolen were put back with oem stuff

still, it's going to be on you to convince the future buyer that the car is "alright" when you decide to sell it. if you can deal with that headache, then go for it; sounds like a solid car. otherwise just keep it in mind that rebuilt title is going to raise eyebrows to any non-idiot, when and if you decide to sell it

See if the guy will take between $6500-$7000, if he does the buy it and drive it until the wheels fall off.
