Hanging out in DC

I'm going to be up in DC this thursday to saturday, I'll be staying next to Dupon Circle.

Anyone have any ideas of good places to go at night around that area? Any group meetings happening this weekend?

go south to the midtown area, not far - 18 and M or head over to georgetown

yea, georgetown is the only place i'd recomend for an out-of-towner...

there's a bunch of good bars in dupont. dupont can be a fun area. tons of bars, and a handful of decent clubs. lots of good places to eat. there's also a comedy club, and some other attractions. it's easy to get around to other DC areas via metro as well.

Dupont has lots of tight bars... if your looking for sushi there is a sushi/kareokee bar there thats pretty tight, its always slamming << Cafe' Japone" >> Also G-Town is tight, Adams Morgan is sick, and Waterfront/Arlington<---- not so much DC but its right there next to it.

If you can I would recommend going to Adams Morgan... there are 100+ bars all on one strip

Yeah I work in Dupont basically.....you'll be staying everything will be easily accessible. But be prepared because you are coming in for Inaugural weekend everything to be jammed up! the metro entrance is on eitherside of the circle just so you know! Also, Adams Morgan is within walking distance, there's lots of restaurants on the southside of the circle heading towards georgetown area. Georgetown is still nice but it's not really bumping like it used to be in the 90's.......U street is popular, you have to visit Ben's Chili Bowl if you've never had it.......My boss owns Philly Cheese Steak in Georgetown.....It all depends on what your tastes are and what you are interested in. Also, Dupont Circle is a gay/lesbian friendly part of the city. Let me know what your interest are and i'll guide you to the right places.

Thanks guys. I'm coming up with a buddy for the Metallica concert on thusrday at the Verizon Center, after that I just want to get drunk and see some beauties ;-)

I'm right below you in Foggy Bottom...Head to Georgetown, Dupont itself, or Adams Morgan...tons of places around.

Then you will need to visit Camelots between 18 & 19th Streets on M Street! Oh and bring 1's!

If it's Thursday night, visit Adam's Morgan lot's of lil' bars/clubs and college night girls lurkin' around! If it's Friday night still go to Adam's Morgan / U Street area.......a great place for beer if you are into it is the brickcellar a thousand different beers guaranteed to have your favorite instock! Oh, don't forget to bring a heavy coat as it's going be really cold this latter part of the week going into the weekend and Inaugural day! Have fun and good luck!

If you're trying to chill/pregame around Verizon Center before or after the concert, there are some pretty cool bars around there as well. I'd recommend RFD's, they also have hundreds of different kinds of beer. It's about a half block north of Verizon Center on 7th street.

If your coming in friday..go to 1223 they have $20 open bar happy hour, and you can stay for the lounge, and not have to pay to re-enter. Also theres Current, Andelu, Midtown and Sesto Senso either next door or across the street. More clubs/bars around the actual circle, but like said previously some of them cater to the gay crowd, but you may be into that I dunno just given you the fyi

Stay out around Verizon center good bars like RFD and Rocket bar. Rocket bar is hard to find since it is in a basement. It is awesome with pool, darts, etc. Some good lookers in there too. Gtown is good to experience every once in awhile there is a great piano bar. Adams Morgan is the crazy bar scene make sure to get a Jumbo Slice at the end of the night.
