Ok guys i need your technical help on this one!

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
OK, ive noticed lately that when its cold outside between the temprature of 20f to 34F and only when i make a right hand corner at speed my BRAKE light flashes 5 or 6 times and then goes out.

Now ive gone to AdvancedAuto to have to codes pulled but there were no codes to pull. So anyone have any ideas what it could be? I really dont want to have to bring it to the dealer to have them figure it out and rape me on diagnogstic charges.

might not help, but i had my light constantly comming on when hard braking and it was due to the pads being worn down.

Brake fluid is good. The brake pads are original, But the BRAKE light still flashes even when the brakes aren't pressed down going around a right hand corner...

P.S. The pads are good i checked then a few thousand miles ago.

+1 most likely. Top off your brake fluid and 90% of the time this will go away.

Audi didn't put hundreds of hours and hundreds of thousands of dollars in the R&D of ESP to have it turned off in inclement weather conditions....Although it does make driving more fun.

im just saying don't make my post sound like it was stupid. my whole point was that you checked your brake pads a long time ago. and you're saying that they're ok cos of that?? just trying to point out that the brake pads can easily wear in a few thousand miles. EASILY

Not sure if this helps, but the reason that light comes on is because your car is sending more than normal amounts of brake fluid to the brakes. It can be caused by a number of different things; faulty sensor, thinning rotors, worn brake pads, etc.

    best advice yet.

I was referencing something similar when I said check the reservoir. If the reservoir is fine follow his path of recommended parts. I would start with cleaning the lid of the res first as this is where the level sensor resides.

it's telling you the esp is kicking in. If you drive real hard you should feel the brake going and you can't stop it lol. turn it off and have a little fun

press firmly to turn it completely off, or just push it quickly (the esp light should come on then go off quickly do turn it off for a short period of time (like 5 seconds or something i believe)

Re: Ok guys i need your technical help on this one!

It sounds to me like your brake pads are worn, especially since you last checked them a couple of thousand miles ago. The pads have a sensor on them that when worn down the sensor begins to disconnect from the pad or completely disconnects. It sounds like the sensor on one of the sides of is becoming disconnected and it may be time to change the pads. I know your insistent that it is not your pads, but I would take a much closer look at them before you find yourself braking metal on metal.

Read the section in the owner's manual about ESP. It'll ruin your brakes to leave it on in heavy snow.
