Hood Release Latch not working *pics. HELP!

My hood release latch decided to not work. It is completely free, no resistance what so ever. I took pictures of it so maybe someone can compare it to theirs to see if something is disconnected. (I never took a look at it when it worked).

I really need help because I beleive my plugs are fowling or there is a mis-fire somewhere

I have never seen that happen before (the assembly coming unbolted like that) But i personally have dealt with the cable coming off the latch about 4 times in the past month.

I would say your best bet is to get a bright ass light and a long crow bar or something that has a slight bend in the top of it to pop it manually form under the car since you need it open you said. Then try to figure out wtf happened to it after that.

Yea check the hood cable. It probably broke.

So you're saying there was an assembly bolted into the release latch? I couldnt find any bolts/parts or anything anywhere. :(

use a light to follow the handle until you find the bare cable end.

use a pair of vice grips and latch them on and pull.

if cable comes out, you f'ed because it broke, and you ll have to get your grille out and release it from the front.

haha you DO NOT have to pop your grill out, and better yet more than likely break it. To pop your hood from the bottom of the car is ridiculously easy, should take you maybe 10 minutes of fumbling around.

Looking at your pics again, everything looks in place, the crooked-ness of them threw me off ha. Do what he said^^ and grab the end of the cable if you can see it with pliers and pull it. Nothing happens then you gotta pop the hood manually yourself form under the car or you can try through the grill..

Shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit i just saw that the cable end broke off from the sodder and went into the hose...into the engine. Scccccccccccccccccccccreeeeeeewed

dude drive your car up on ramps or something to get it in the air. Now get a long crow bar or anything with a slight bend at the end of it. Get a bright light and look up between your 2 fans. You should see a sensor at the VERY top thats the hood pin sensor. To pop your hood the latch is DIRECTLY above that and you need to hit it towards the drivers side, dont be afraid to move it around kinda hard you can only f up your hood sensor which isnt that important anyway.

Ok thanks for the help. I got the hood undone using that method, got the hood release wire and tube disconnected, pushed back in the cabin, and am now working on re-silver-sodering the ball back on the cabin end of the release wire...the whole ordeal actually wasn't that bad. Now I just have to make sure that goes well and voila! I love you guys!
