    Burned/Melted HID Bulb and Socket!?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Just noticed that my driver side HID bulb (XENARC OSRAM D2S 35W 66040) is not working. I thought these bulbs hardly get burned, but look at the pictures. It seems I have a bigger problem.

I do not understand how shortage could occur and melt the bulb and socket without burning a fuse.

What should I check? Buy a new bulb or HID ballast? Does anybody know the proper output current?
