List or pics of all oil / coolant lines needed for a GTRS install?

I've been collecting parts for a GTRS kit over the past few months and when you buy used parts a lot of the time not everything that you need is included.

That being said, I need to figure out what I need to buy to be able to install this without making a trip to the dealer or getting stuck ordering parts online. I've never taken apart a 1.8t except to swap the TB, so Im not familiar with the turbo's physical setup.

So assuming you were going to install a GTRS, what lines will you need? What can be reused? Any aftermarket options? Length and thread pitches?

I suppose it would be ideal to figure out the AN fittings and hose lengths needed for a full braided line setup.

    Any input? Thanks!

Re: List or pics of all oil / coolant lines needed for a GTRS install?

I think the factory oil lines can be re-used but you need an oil restrictor on the oil feed line.

The coolant supply line coming from the upper hard line on the intake manifold needs to be lengthened and a banjo fitting added at the turbo.

Can not remember if the factory coolant return line gets re-used.

That is the cheapest approach. The primo approach is just get all new S/S lines: http://www.034motorsport.com/product...roducts_id=724 That is the transverse kit. I couldn't find the longitudinal kit with a quick scan. Might want to talk to Issam for the longi kit if interested.

Re: List or pics of all oil / coolant lines needed for a GTRS install?

Thanks Doug. I was under the impression that the oil restrictor was built into the turbo right where the oil inlet line attaches...

I may need to call ATP about this.

The 034 kit looks nice but $330? I may just undertake designing my own kit and save the money. It's not rocket science to measure hose length and thread pitch afterall. I was hoping that someone may have put something like this together in the past and would have the info ready... if not I suppose I'll be the first to DIY.

Re: List or pics of all oil / coolant lines needed for a GTRS install?

Others have done their own kits. The parts are not cheap so the cost of doing a full oil/coolant line kit with all the fittings/gaskets adds up quickly.

If you want to cut costs, you can just do rubber hose for the coolant lines since the B6 uses a banjo fitting at the block and a hose clamp at the coolant hard pipe. That means you really only need to do a oil drain line with the fittings and get a oil restrictor for the oil feed line.

    Mike,
Does 034 have a line kit for the longitudinal configuration?

    Jon,
The oil restrictor threads onto the turbo oil inlet fitting. It is not part of the turbo itself.

Search for my name, I made this same thread and Shawn posted a list of all parts needed even with ATP part #'s. I gave the list to a local shop and it cost me $200 for everything. They're not braided ss though.

Yes and I sent you an PM.

This is the B6 line that 034 put together for me using straight fittings for the coolant lines at the turbo.

They also made the line kit that is on Jakes dad's car, this one uses banjo bolts for the coolant lines at the turbo.

Re: List or pics of all oil / coolant lines needed for a GTRS install?

Thanks for all the help guys. I'll have to see if the turbo has the restrictor still in it once it is shipped to me later this week. I think I'll still try to assemble the kit myself because it'll be a learning experience and better than just paying someone to do it.

Killerteve that post was extremely helpful! Here is the link for anyone searching in the future:

Re: List or pics of all oil / coolant lines needed for a GTRS install?

Thought I would bring this back. So I read this and the related thread and others I found in a search and cant come to a conclusion.

What lines are absolutley reusable if you are using a GTRS elim kit with ATP Mani.

    What lines must you get?

    WHERE TO GET THEM?

My turbo has barbed banjo fittings already on the turbo, what lines should I use so I don't have to buy new Banjo fittings (can I even use Braided SS with barbed fittings).

Also Everyone is saying this is 300 plus dollars when im on the ATP site and they offer fairly cheap custom lines such as

    http://www.atpturbo.com/Merchant2/me...gory_Code=GTBB

    and

    http://www.atpturbo.com/Merchant2/me...gory_Code=GTBB

let me know if im way out of the ball park here. I would rather someone say here is exactly what you will need and yes I would like to stay cost effective aka cheap.

So i've been trying figure out if I can reuse the oil feed line on my used Gtrs since it did not come with any lines. if I can reuse it what size is the oil restrictor fitting that I need?
Another ? I have, what size banjo fittings do I need for the coolant return and is the coolant return outlet on the same side as the k03 ? TIA

If you choose to replace your feed/return lines, I have some that are new I'll sell dirt cheap.

    I gotta bump this thread.

Can I use the 034 kit with a stock location manifold? I want to just replace all the coolant + oil lines with SS. But I don't want SS that goes to AN fittings or SS that goes to rubber. Too many connections + places to fail. Plus it looks sloppy IMHO.

Is there another kit that I can but that will have all the lines I need in SS?
