So I lenthened the wires for my turbo timer and now it is not working. Is there any way that touching the two leads together or grounding one of them would have fried a fuse or relay somewhere? Other than the turbo timer not counting down, the car runs normal.

If you just added wiring to it, there should be no issue. You probably just have a bad connection on your splicing (ie. not enough contact, used wrong gauge, etc) or loosened another wire in the process.

    ^^yep

did you solder/heat shrink the wires like you are supposed to? or was it a wire nut and electrical tape job?

I used butt connectors for the extensions and wire taps for connecting in the steering column.
