Anyone ever use the same ballast for an H7 bulb and an H1? Are the ballasts interchangeable for these bulbs?

h7/h1 are regular bulbs and do not require a ballast i thought? ds1/ds2 are the HID bulbs and require the gl5 ballasts

No i have two HID conversion kits. The H7 kit is on my car right now but my new headlights run H1 bulbs so i bought an HID h1 conversion kit. The h1 kit was from vvme and the box it came in looked like it had been dropped off of a 10 story building so one of the ballasts is defective. I'm anxious to install the lights and want to know if i can use one of my H7 ballasts while i'm waiting for a replacement ballast.

    Re: Ballast swap

I would think so as long as the bulb u have is for the same watt kit 35w or 55w

What are you gone to do about the harness ? the H7 is 2 pronged the H 1 is single. You just gone to cut the wires, solder and shrink tube it ?

You think you could just modify the H7 buld to fit an H1 socket ?

it seems no one answered you correctly or understood your question. i would say yes they should be interchangable. all ballast connections are the same.
