    front passenger side door problem..

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Hello. As we all know when we open our doors: the interior lights turn on, and the dash indicator tells us that the door is open and which is open. But when my front passenger side is opened, none of these work...What needs to be checked/replaced? fuses? wiring? Anyone experienced the same problem before?

The harness that goes to the doors get screwed up... you most likely have to replace the harness

Is everything ok when you open the other doors? Interior light goes on, Dash indicator, if so yeah wiring harness in the door, if not, check fusebox.

From open and closing the door the wires get frayed. I read that the harness is 130$. So just take the door card off and resolder the wires.

Wowsers!! $130 for a harness?!? Oh well, another damage done to me by this car. All the other doors work as intended; this particular one needs to be fixed. Anyhow, does anyone have an idea what part # I will need or what is the actual name for the part??

Like i said before I wouldn't even bother buying the harness. Once it gets warmer I'll be doing the same thing.

open the door remove the rubber boot clip, remove the door card, source out which wires are frayed, cut the wire. Get a roll of the same size wire, splice it in between. Then wrap it good with tape so it doesn't happen again. Chances are its only a couple wires that have issues.

    I would not do tape.

Use shrink wrap tubing from Radio Shack.

Make sure you use solder as well. Please don't use wire butt connectors. You will have to redo the whole thing in no time.

when i said tape, i ment tipe all the wires together after they are shrinkwraped. But i guess that wasn't clear.
