Detroit... a lovely city... yyaaa right :)

Things were getting boring here in Chicago so i decided to take a small trip to Canada to visit a friend of mine...
I knew it was suppose to snow over here on Saturday... but man... i only realized that when i woke up in the morning:))) Well it didnt stop me :)
I left Chicago at around 11am... Weather was something like this

This is how my car looked like after 30 min or so

It got better when i got on 94e... then it got worse when i entered Michigan... driving was horrible, but i still was going in a left lane... my only problem was--- my wipers... They sucked :).
There were cars in the snow on both sides of the hwy... that was kinda scary... i slowed down a bit... and sometime after baaammm... my first accident... technically it was my fault... but all i wanna say is i HATE people who dont use their turn signals, especially in a bad weather... ok here is a pic of my hood after that... (i hear custom Vorsteiner... well i wish :)



ok, 30 min after i pull up to the gas station to clean the car and such... as im walking behind my car i see a lady looking at me and trying to say something. so i slowed down and she says: " u got something underneath your car" i was like ... great... what now... my underneath carriage plastic thing came off. i tried to brake it completely but couldnt so i gave up... alright...
Then i thought my car got slower... i was thinking why and the first thing came to my mind that it was to heavy... so i decided to drop off some of the extra weight


took a couple of pics on the way...

and finally got to EuroAleksey's place around 6 pm... was exhausted... but Aleksey, following our russian traditions introduced me to my first bottle of beer...

well then there was a 2nd, 3rd...

vodka shots... and etc... i cant drink... i get drunk after 2 bottles LOL i know... so then we decided we gotta go to the club... i was already stg 3 by then... so i close my eyes... 5 min later i open them and see a lot of food in front me... that was one of the best plates ive ever eaten :)))
Then we relaxed for a sec

ok.. we went to some techno/house place called Blue i think... then we went to his friends... i slept for like 4 hours when i realized why i drove all the way there.. yaaa to visit a friend in Canada.
So i come outside to start the car and see that im missing one of my grills good :(
Ok, more air for my huuuuggeee k03 :)))

2 min after i left, i noticed something weird, car wasnt going normal, well i decided that snow was the problem... Yeah, right... 1 minute after i see a guy in a pickup truck honking and pointing at my wheel... so i stop on a shoulder and see this greattttt day :)



ok, i have a spare i said to myself... then i remembered i was running spacers in the back... tried to take that thing off but it didnt want to come off... ( oh and we had no cigarettes left ). ok, decided to go with only one (right side)... car was driving pretty good... felt even better than before lol... so we got to Canada... On the way back they pulled me over on the border... i had to get out of the car and go talk to the officers while others were searching my car... 40 min after they said i could go :)
oh, btw... look at these COOL glasses i got in Canada... everyone wears them over there.. jk


It wasnt snowing that bad going back so i got to Chicago much quicker. When we entered Indiana snow kinda stopped and i see someone tailgating me... gues who was that? A huge freaking TRUCK going 90mph +... LOL... Also, on the way back i was on Canadian 91 and car felt much smoootheerrr, maybe i was too tired though...
So cliff notes:
quattro + snow = very good
lowered car+ qauttro = a bit worse
lowered car + quattro+ broken Votex side skirts= craziness :)))
Beer in Chicago is the same as in Detroit :)
Cigarettes in Indiana are 3x cheaper than in Illinois.
Food in Canada is more tasty.
Cigarettes in Canada are weird.
Hard to realize that u gotta go 50 KMh, not 50 mph :)
gotta start learning french...

Drinks in clubs are soo much cheaper... like $4 per beer.
Aleksey fell in love with Quattro again.
need 2 ipods or a car charger for it.
Smoking is bad... u stop thinking about eating...
ContiExtremeContacts are pretty good in a snow!!!
Overal im happy i went, minus my hood/wheel/grill/plastic shield...

I'm a bit surprised there was no mention of the abnormally sized pot holes you undoubtedly drove over while being in MI. I suspect those had something to do with that missing piece of wheel.

actaully going there i didnt see any pot holes cuz there was snow all around... but i think i know where i damaged my wheel. Somewhere in Downtown, i remember going over a huge pot hole with my lest side.

Welcome to the D! Car damage aside (not that you CAN put it aside), sounds like a pretty good weekend. We won't take blame for the grille, that's just snow dragging it off, but yea, we are certainly at fault for the wheel. Our roads usually look like they have taken minor bomb damage.

If you liked the music at the club, you should make the road trip back over Memorial Day weekend for the Movement electronic music festival downtown. 3 stages all day til 11 or 12, then club afterparties until 3 or 4am.

Yeah, actually DJ was very good, and fast :) But i dont remember much of a music... i got delivered to that place... than they didnt have a vallet, so we had to walk 2 blocks... then i remember Aleksey buying me another beer... then i got into stage 3+...
