emissions in chicago

Hey just wondering if someone can shine some light on me about this, just got my emission paper thingy for my car to go there. and i got the stupid ass faulty ABS module shit, will I pass with the abs light on? yeh the ABS module aint rebuildable its fucked beyond belief so the next best thing is for me to keep searching clasifieds and thats what I been doing for the past month everyday. SO anyone know? THanks!!!!

you should be good, as long as you dont have a CEL

worse thing thatll happen is they will fail you. but you get 3 attempts to pass.

yeh see the thing with 3 attempts is that there is no way in hell im paying 2k for the stealership to fix this, Ive been looking all over ebay,craigslist,audi forums, everywhere for one, but with no luck. But I guess Ill just go there and see what they say. Thanks guys!

Yeh thats exactly what I thought also, I looked it up on there web site and it only states stuff about CEL. Well shit theres like 08 saturns that dont even got ABS so wtf =DDDD

Only emissions related codes will get you to fail.

Secondary Air
02 Sensors
etc. etc.

a code for an ABS sensor you will be perfectly fine

ahhh thanks man! now to kill the ABS and BRAKE light some how before I go crazy while driving at night with that shit blinking in my face! =D

my abs had that problem to but I still passed emissions. I am from wisconsin though so idk if illinios's emissions are different

I don't know if this will work but you can try taking the ABS fuse out. I would think that would stop the blinking.

yeh tried that, but then it says FUSE by where the miles are haha fucking annoying, but thanks for the advice

they at least read our computer thru obd2... so if someone passed that fro WI you should pass it too here in IL.
and if u think about it, thats ABS, has nothing to do with your emissions... but u never know...
just got here and try...
i failed my test like a month ago cuz i went there right after my car was fixed... and everytime u clear your CEL, it takes sometime for your ECU to realize whats going on... thats why EVAP will read bad untill u drive xxx miles.

Try cleaning the connection first, sometimes will fix the problem. Try some salvage yards - maybe Shokan?

It will take 40 ignition cycles. So turn your car on 40 times.

yeh im gonna give it a go probably friday or saturday. sucks now, school started again. getting up at 6 is such a bitch. classes from 7 till 12 then work from 2 till 8 is a bitch.... /rant
