Thule owners with PRE Crossroad (450) feet

Looking for Avant owners with Thule racks who are using pre-Crossroad feet (e.g. 754xt, 751xt, etc).

I'm trying to figure out which models fit our cars best and am wondering if someone out there has these feet?? I've heard that they look and function better than the newer 450s.

Re: Thule owners with PRE Crossroad (450) feet

I found a used set of Thule 415's (actually had "Volvo" printed on them) at Rack n' Road. I was going to get a used set of crossroads but the 415's looked way better, had a lower profile, did not stick out as much and seem more secure. Besides the way I figure it, the 415 was new when my 01 S4 avant was. Gotta match right?
They are a little tight to get on but it is not a problem and dont scratch up the car. If you want some pics let me know and I will see if I can get some.

How do they function better? As in attach to the rails "better"? I've had zero issues with the 450r feet, and IMO the Aero bars are better looking than the older steel bars. Certainly much more streamlined when you attach racks and boxes because of the "T" bolt and lack of hanging pinch plates.

I'd love a photo if you can get one! Someone is trying to sell me the 440s but if the 415s look good I'll look for those.

Yeah, Let me Try to get some shots tonight.
Also...not sure about the crossroads but the 415s are really quiet. I forget I even have a box up there. No whistling from the rack and the packasport is *silent* (no rattle whatsoever)
