    Real Estate in Denver?

So i'm looking to buy a place in the first half of this year in Denver (probably in the highlands). Anyone have any particular good website or method of finding good properties? Foreclosed or otherwise? Any tips about real estate would be helpful considering i'm fairly un-educated about it.

expect to pay a pretty penny for a very small place in the highlands. definitely an overpriced area IMO for what you get.

North denver is an option as well but i don't want to be any more than 10 minutes from LODO.

I'd say shoot for 104th Ave between I-25 and Sheridan. You can go north and south from like 92nd to 114th and find some sick deals. Jump on I-25 and youre <10 mins from downtown....

I just bought my first house about 6 months ago, and I actually found that the site with the most listings and most user friendly search options was actually ReMax's website. I didn't use a ReMax realtor or anything, but I did frequent their page.

Haha. I bought right off 104th and Wads. Great area. I found once you get north of around 92nd the value of the houses is much better.
It takes me 20 mins exactly to get to and from the Pepsi Center so it's really not too far. Half of that drive is just getting me to HWY36.

I know denver very well and i've already decided where i want to live. I need to be right off the highway and north of colfax. I don't want to have to drive down I-25 anywhere from colfax to santa fe, or DTC for that matter. Gov park is off broadway pretty much so it's a no-go.

yes like Brian said, Thornton/Northglenn is a great place. I lived there for 12 years and my old house was 1 minute from I-25. It was for sale but now we rent it out, otherwise i'd try and sell it to you.

If you're not buying until june-ish I can set you up with the realtor who handles all the properties for the contracting company I work for. We specialize in foreclosure flips and can probably set you up with a nice place for cheap. Almost all of our houses get new carpet, hard wood, and appliances.

Hey, if this is a legitimate offer I may certainly take you up on it. So essentially they (Realtor) are a specialist in foreclosures/HUD?

Well if all goes to plan, i'll have 3 months of time to fix up my place before i move in so i would probably do the carpet/floor/appliances etc. myself. I've been lucky enough to meet hookups for granite, hardwood, carpet, plumbing, electrical, and tile just through work and friends.

However that doesn't mean i wouldn't be interested in using that realtor because i'm not exactly swimming in free time.

Yeah, basically. I'm not positive I can get him to do anything, though. I won't be back in Denver until June and I'm not even sure if they'll (the realtor and the other main partner) still be running the company I work for. The two guys have a lot of different projects and if this one stops being profitable I'm sure they'll drop it and start focusing more on the other ones.

I'll send some e-mails out to the two partners and see if they can hook me up with a list of what we have on the market/going on the market soon.

I've got a buddy who is selling a condo in a gated lot off of 25th and Federal so real close to the highlands. I do like that area other than the lack of "room". I can't stand parking on the street.

Yeah one of my qualms with the highlands is that getting a garage might be an issue. I haven't had a garage to work on my car in in years. Right now i have a 1 car garage but its packed with 4 motorcycles and a snowmobile.

I have blades, headlights and a cupra lip just sitting in my house but I keep putting off installing them because its fucking cold outside.

    Re: Real Estate in Denver?

I'm sure you'll find something but I'd expand the "search area" so you could find yourself a nice 2-car garage.

    Have you tried realtor.com?

    Craigslist?
