    Question Carbon Fiber entire car?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I know there's a lot of you guys on here with a CF addiction, and it seems you want to wrap EVERYTHING in CF lol . I like CF attributes too, but not like some of you, no offense. SO, my question is, has anybody wrapped an entire car with CF, or anyone have pics of cars that have been? I think i saw one a while ago, but can't really remember for sure. Also, how much do you guys think that would cost??

    Re: Carbon Fiber entire car?

Yeah, I think that's the pic I saw that I can kind of remember. But I was thinking more along the lines of an A4, or something similar, something that hits a little closer to home persay lol.

    Re: Carbon Fiber entire car?

difference is , wrapping is a lot different then having actual molded body panels and parts made of carbon fiber.

wrapping a car in CF is completely for aesthetics not to mention it'll probably add a couple of pounds to our already heavy cars.

Wrapping a car just adds weight. It's only ballah if you mold true CF body pieces instead of putting it over steel.

Yeah I know, i wasn't thinking for performance reasons I was just wondering what it would look like, I imagine it will either look pretty good, or ridiculously stupid haha.

    Re: Carbon Fiber entire car?

Many prolly won't believe I'm saying this, but ridic stupid gets my vote. On a a race car= bad ass. On a 4-door sedan = eh, not so much.
90% of my CF-ing is under the hood. I like to open the hood and see that.
But I'm limiting it on the outside of my car to just the headlight interiors. There is a line that crosses in to Asian import-loving kids, and excessive CF is the first step in crossing it.

My gut instinct is to lean towards the later, CF is a great accent but a whole car is too much in my opinion.

IIRC you might save around 25-30 lbs.

Oh and the Saleen S7 is made of all carbon fiber but it's painted so you just can't tell. I watched a show on them and how they are made and what happens when a customer orders them. The body is 100% carbon fiber.

full cf bodied b6 would look odd , if i had to have exposed cf on my car it would be the trunk , hood , front fenders.
