Just bought her on Dec. 20 and finally got around to getting some pictures taken. I am so proud to be an Audi owner and now a new member of the AZ as well. Let me know what you guys think of her and what you think the first mods should be.

    Re: My New 05 B6 S4

Looks good. How many miles on the car? If you're close to 50K or so, there are some maintenance items you may want to deal with first (plugs, air, pollen, and fuel filters, possibly brakes (check rear pads), etc.).

For mods, are you interested in appearance or performance? Most here seem to do shocks/springs (or coilovers), sway bars, and exhaust for performance. You can chip, but won't get much of a gain w/o an exhaust.

For appearance, with that color, I would tint the rear windows also. Black front grills might look nice, but might be too much black on the car (chrome trim looks good). You can buy them (about $240 for the set), but they look just as good if you remove the grills, clean and degrease, and paint with black Plast-Dip. Total cost: about $20 and 3-4 hours of your time.

The best mod I have done so far is to add the RNS-E navi system to the car. Kits are about $1200. I purchased from Vagnavs.com and the kit came with everything. It's pretty good for OEM navi.

What is clear corner? I am debating about tint right now, if i do it, I want to do all of the windows but in cali that just gives the cops another reason to pull you over. I am not a big fan of the rs4 wheels, i couldve gotten them swapped on by the dealer but i chose the TI pack rims instead. The front plate will come off when i get a new bumper.

The car has 51k on her and the 55k service was just done by the dealer, im waiting on my air filter to come in and then i am going to change the plugs. In regard to a performance, i think she needs more stopping power before more HP, but the brembo kit is soooo expensive. I think that i am going to black out the grill but leave the rings silver and TI coat the S4 badges. I actually just bought a little porta-navi and a valentine1 so those bases are covered as well.

Much appreciated man, I was looking at a 335 as well but I just love the AWD, you just can't go wrong with quattro. The 335 may be a bit faster due to weight, but I put all of my power down at once with the quattro.

You should have taken the OEM RS4's wheels, sold them, and bought the Ti - you would have made some $$$

That's a great point but they wanted to throw on another $1000 for the RS4 wheels, do to the fact that the dealer would have to replace them. So at that point it just wasn't worth my time.

On another note, does anyone have a set of OEM B6 S4 rims for sale, i need a set for my winter tires.

Nice, don't you love the V8 power? Now I am just saving up for the Brembo brake kit. It might be a while too, cuz that shit is expensive

Y-E-S. I'm still contemplating where to go first with mods, but I know what you mean about the brake upgrade cost. However, I love the stock brakes on the car -- I prefer the instant gratification of tapping the brake pedal and feeling an immediate change in speed to having to press the pedal quite a bit to get anything to happen.

It's funny about the V8. I upgraded from a 4 cyl Honda Accord 5 speed, which I felt was pretty quick in its class. I drove the Accord the other day, and was thinking, "The power isn't really that much different than the S4." A short time after that, I was pulling away from an intersection in second gear, and floored it, and was briefly confused when nothing really happened. I realized the error of my thinking, lol. There is NO comparison.

Most of the time, I drive pretty sedately in the S4, so after a little while, I'll forget what the car's capable of. Makes it that much more fun when I open her up. = )

    I love the V8 torque.

Yeah -- I also like the close-ratio transmission, as my accord topped out at 35 mph in first, and 115 in second (I may be exaggerating). lol.

Thanks, and actually they are titanium package wheels from an 08 A4, and as far as the next mod goes, if it counts i am picking up my K&N drop in filter today, but for something big it will most likely be an otty front bumper or a eurogear boser hood. Then maybe day runners from the B8 and an exhaust. Then cams....Geez i could do this forever.

Have fun getting that air filter in. All that V8 power comes at a price -- engine bay space!

Beautiful car bud. BTW... You don't need to buy a new front bumper. The license plate panel is replaceable separately from the bumper. The filler panel is about $90 and since your car is black painting it to match will be a snap.

I like the wheels. Shame they aren't 19"s, but they're still nice. The pewter finish is gorgeous with the black. I remember having a black 4000s Quattro with pewter finished Ronal R8's back in the day. Very similar wheel except the 16"s I had sported a lip. Good luck with it.

Yeah I looked into buying the front panel but as I was looking around I find that I like the look of the oettinger front. It opens up the gaps and gives it a more aggressive look IMO. And I like the 18" better because this car is still used to go to the mountains and if I put 19"s on her I would have to get coilovers as well, just because it looks so hard that way. But for the time being I am enjoying my 18" TI's. Also I am looking into getting a set of the EVO X MR BBS rims. I know a guy who works for mits and I think those rims would look sweet
