    I was going to wash mine every few months (maybe 3-5) and it only requires water -- no oiling!

    Yeah, every couple months, and they also recommend that you wash it from the inside out.

    Just clean it about every 3-5k miles, depending on the conditions that you drive it in. If you drive on a lot of dirt roads, the sooner you clean it, the better.
