    Whatsup everybody...
so im on the last leg with my 1998 a4 and looking to move up to a b7. I am looking for years between 2006-2008.

I have found 2 2007 a4s...priced pretty low, both are CPO

    1. All wheel drive, 2.0T, Millage 30,000, Convenience package/premium package/xenons...Price: 23,000

    2. All wheel drive, 2.0T, Millage 22,000, standard equipment, Price:23,000

What do you guys think?...assuming they are both in great condition, and a good carfax report.

Considering miles, is 30,000 too high?

Any help or suggestions is much appreciated!!!!!!!

30,000 miles for a 2 year old car is a bit over average. But i prefer it to be fully loaded. choice is yours.

    Re: The search has begun....for a B7!!!!

Those are in the neighborhood of what I paid for my 07 last month. Out of those two two the first one is obviously the choice since its much better equipped. Everyone will have a greatest ever price to tell you about, but somehow those are never anywhere to be found when it comes time to find a car.

No offense to anyone, but IMO there are certain indispensable options that you can't have the car without. Quattro... why would you buy an Audi without? Xenon... why would you buy a high-end German car without them? 6 speed manual... why are you buying any car without one? This is all IMO, but the point is if you're anything like me, you know what you want, not settling for less, and this leaves a surprisingly small selection of cars to choose from.

    Re: The search has begun....for a B7!!!!

The difference between the two cars you posted, OP, is basically that they're saying 8,000 miles equals the price of premium & convenience package/xenons/etc. To me, that seems like a killer deal!

Im with Koby - I'd try to narrow down exactly what you want in the car, either by researching on here or actually going and sitting in a number of different ones to see what preferences you have. Quattro is a no-brainer, but I'd say do not pass up a great deal on a car just cuz it doesn't have xenons or navigation. Both are likely to be charged at a high premium by the dealer, and you can always mod the car after your purchase - stuff like that doesn't void any warranties and is usually cheaper.

Good luck with the decision, and I'll wish you an early welcome to the B7 club!

    thanks for the help...

    im really looking for a:
    2.0t
    quattro
    black/silver/white exterior
black/dark gray interior with aluminum trim
    xenons
    sline if possible
preferably a 2007 if i can get one under $25,000

any chance u think that will happen (i live in chicago and need to get one this weekend)....my current A4 has blew something where my rpm meter stays at 3rpm's even when the car is off....and my spedometer stays at zero when driving around...

anyways iv been thinking about a new audi and now is the time....
also what do you guys think about buying from a dealership vs. somewhere like luxury motors???

that 8k in miles is at least half a year in warranty time, unless you drive 20k a year.

To give you some perspective from someone without some of the options you're looking at.. I have no s-line, no xenons, and no nav, and I'm having a really hard time deciding which I'm going to pick up first. It's probably going to be the suspension, then Xenons. Those headlights are *&#($&@ expensive :o

Keep in mind all '08's have an s-line badge in the grill and sline body kit. They don't have the s-line suspension or interior unless those were added as an extra option.

    Re: The search has begun....for a B7!!!!

I paid $18.7k last month for an 06 with full s-line package, metallic paint, bose, and convenience package with 29k miles, CPO from a local Audi dealership. I'm sure quattro would increase the price, but I don't think the prices you posted are all that impressive.

Oh, mine was non xenon. And yes, those 08s probably have the s-line exterior package but probably not the suspension, upgraded 18" RS6 wheels, s-line wheel and door sills, etc. Keep that in mind - it may or may not matter, depending on if you are going to similar mods anyway...

Set aside xenons and nav for a sec, cuz as we said; whether you go with those options from the dealer or after your purchase, they're gonna be pricey.

I think the S-line decision should be based on how much you're going to mod the car. If you don't really plan to touch the car, then probably go S-line for the slightly lower-looking suspension and more aggressive look (oh, and some pretty red badges )

However, if you plan to do much to the car, S-line really isn't worth it. The only true "performance" difference over non S-line A4's is the suspension. From what I've heard (cuz I have a non S-line), it isn't even that much stiffer/better performing, but simply lower so the wheel-gap isn't quite as glaring. Aside from the suspension, if you change the front bumper, that really does away with most of the S-line package. The different truck and door blades, and some interior accents will be all that's left.

Personally, after putting on new shocks/springs, I can't believe I ever tolerated driving around on stock equipment - it feels like a new car. And like I said, the stock sport suspension may sit lower, but it doesn't shake a stick handling/performance-wise to aftermarket stuff.

EDIT: Also, don't get anything but CPO, it's just not worth the potential (or inevitable) headache down the road.

Hope that helps narrow it down!

haha im not gona go to luxury motors...just was wondering about it.

so i think i found the new car!!!! Both are CPO
    1. its a 2008 2.0T quattro.
less than 3000 miles, black on black for right under 25k

    2. 2008 2.0T quattro, less than 6,000 miles
xenons and gps for under 27k

i was able to work with them on the price a tiny bit and with the trade in im looking at for option #1 it would be 21.7k, #2 it would be around 23.5k

fyi, last month i bought an 06 Quattro, metallic paint, black int, tip, xenons, titanium pkg, with 45k miles...it was sold brand new in jan. of 06, so avg. 15k/year...

i paid 15,900.00, financed with 5.65apr....then went to local audi dealer and paid $3900 for a 4yr/48k Platinum Care Coverage (audi's bumper-to-bumper).

also, just had the 45k service done at the audi dealer for FREE.99 to boot!!

    not bad, huh?

yep, it covers timing belts....bumper to bumper! basically, instead of the warranty describing what it DOES cover, it describes only what it does NOT cover....it's a good deal, i shopped all over the place...also, the price varies on your current miles! mine had 45k

I think what happened was nsmith had 30k on the car at the time of purchase, and the packages mostly go until 100k miles. It seems strange, though, that one person with 45k miles would pay more than someone with 30k miles if both cover up to the 100k mark. Sounds like it should be the other way around to me.

My financier was a shitbag, btw - I bought CPO, which eseentially includes the Platinum extended warranty. He then tried to sell me the Platinum warranty, and I'm looking at the list of coverage in one hand, and my CPO packet in the other........and I go, "Ummmm, isn't THIS (hold up the Platinum warranty package) basically what comes with my car being CPO? (hold up other hand)"

He goes "Uh-uh...oh yea! I forgot your car was Certified Pre-Owned, my mistake!" Yea, sure you did........I'm holding the damn packet in my hand and the copies of the paper-work are right in front of you.....ya shitbag!

Correct, I bought it with 30k in July '07. Warranty went to 102k full bumper to bumper. I sold it back/canceled it two weeks ago though and got the majority of the money back.

    Re: The search has begun....for a B7!!!!

I picked up my 06 in November for 22k. I feel like I overpaid a bit. At the time it blue booked for 28. 30k miles, premium, technology, s-line, navigation non cpo. I still have until October of this year left on the warranty.

I guess I got a bit impulsive because I was in love w/ dolphin gray. As far as interest rates, much better for cpo. I am paying 7 percent. Believe it or not after shopping several places in town, the stealership was the best.

Good luck! I definitely agree... go s-line. I had a non-sline on lease that I returned when I bought this one and the differences are suttle but appreciated. Plus I have sport suspension and the ride is so much more impressive. I am in love with my car, I know I probably could have gotten a better price... but too late for remorse I am just driving my baby and loving it!

    Re: The search has begun....for a B7!!!!

    3 weeks ago i got ...
07 a4 2.0 37.5k mi sport suspension, adaptive xenons, auto headlights and wipers, dimming mirrors, bluetooth, both front power seats, and drl's cpo'd. i figure car is covered till 2012 and 100k miles which i will probably get rid of the car before i reach end of the extended warranty.

for around 18,700 and 21,700 out the door with added gap insurance crap that i submitted to buying. and this is in l.a. where i think they go a little higher. not sure.

either way you might be able to talk the 30k car down more.

oh yea the dealer had 26k on the sticker...lmao.

the car im looking at has an extended warranty after the 4yr 50000 mile warranty, its for another 2 years and 50000 mile warranty and is the same as the original warranty....is it worth to keep that or get rid of it and cut down on the price?
