99.0 A4 1.8T using oil? Slow leak? Into coolant?

    Hi,

Over the last year, I have noticed that my 99 1.8T (92,000 miles) is using a a bit of oil, but I don't know where it is going. About every oil change (5000 miles) I seem to need a quart.

There are no visible signs on the floor, or out the exhaust pipe (passed Cal emissions, no problem).

Anyone have any ideas? I have been using Mobile 1 for the last 6-7 years.

    Thanks!

    Dave

might be burning it very slowly.. You don't see any leaks? Could be a small/slow leak.

No visible leaks...any possible candidate spots to look?

I have the same problem and I'm betting its my factory k03 that has been chipped for 8 years and has 153,000 miles on it haha. Pull off your IC piping and check for oil inside. Also, check your coolant reservoir and make sure your coolant is clean, if you have any signs of foamy brown crud, your oil cooler has failed and is leaking oil into your cooling system. Been there - NOT fun. It's a huge mess and the sooner you catch it the better.
