so im thinking has anyone done a AWD swap in there FWD B6 A4. I checked ETKA and it looks like the quattro rear subframe will just bolt up. Looks like i just need the gas tank, whole rear suspension and trans. Just want to be sure... I found a pretty good deal on the whole rear subframe with everything for a good price lol.

you and your AWD conversions LOL... Yea it should... Lucky for you Torsen is all mechanical, no electronics required. You would need the

    Re: AWD swap

I would have to believe that it would be cheaper to sell yours and buy another one. I know we can get attached to our cars, but it seems like a lot of good money used up, almost what the deal you can get. Possible? Probably. A good idea? Probably not.

    Re: AWD swap

Some people like challenges, and most people that mod cars in ways he's interested in doing don't use new parts. I like the idea, and of course you know that a thread, with tons of pics, will be mandatory for this kinda thing. People asked the same sorts of questions or had the same type of negative things to say when I swapped M3 running gear onto my E36 318i and I liked answering their questions with "Because I want to". Too bad I still have the S50 block in my garage and that car never got finished.

    Re: AWD swap

^^ haha i'm pretty sure he's just gonna swap the standard quattro system. So really he'll just be going from FWD to quattro. Which is an overall improvement in his car, but not for all audi-kind. It is a very ambitious project though. Especially if he incorporates the ESP and all that.

Are you sure? When this question came up before, checking the ETKA showed different part numbers for the floor pans between FWD and quattro setups.

No...but he might want to consider stiffer springs in the rear due to the added weight, but its not that big of a deal

So what other parts does this B6 A4 have? Is it fairly complete or has it been ripped to shreds?
