Hey boys when i drive in heavy snow @ 100km/hr i find the car swaying a little not alot but enough that if i have pasengers they will hold on for life. I've had my winter tires for 3 season this being my third and last 2 snow seasons my car was lowered @ 24.5 , i raised it this winter to 25.5 but feel like tires have uneven tire wear, would this make me feel it in the snow?

unless you are a girl, you should not be starting a post with Hey boys

as fopr the swaying, try rotating the tires and look at them to see if the wear is uneven. if it is then get an alignment.

Why would you need to go that fast in heavy snow anyway? Even with quattro it doesn't take much of a slip to send your car sideways.

Maybe it is the treadware simple starting to show it's age. My snow tires I had for one season had maybe 1-3 more seasons left in them before/after being sold.

how bout tire postion as in the way its supposed to rotate? i know my know tires have to be facing a certain way or else it just keep pushing the snow back infront of the tires.

just a thought... mine have arrows telling you which way they are supposed to rotate.

Sounds like float, bald tires don't help and if your alignment is just slightly off it will be exacerbated.

Get some new tires, preferable 195/65/15 and get your alignment rechecked.

Think of it as trying to ski with no edges. Can’t turn, can’t stop.

Re: Would bad tires cause me to sway in snow?

If the car is swaying enough to bother passengers then it is time to slow down. Directional stability is critical to staying on the road. If it won't stay straight then there isn't enough control available to correct a slide.

Also check your tire pressures to make sure they are even. A low tire can cause the car to randomly sway. Had it happen to me on Friday when a tire had a slow leak.
